Farmer alleges theft of cash and gold from house
Hyderabad: A farmer lodged a complaint with Nandigama police alleging that unknown persons stole Rs 15 lakh cash and 16 tola gold from his house. Police are verifying the complaint.
The incident occurred at the house of C H Krishnaiah, a farmer from Mamidipally. According to Nandigama police, on July 27, when Krishnaiah's family opened the almirah, they realised the theft. "Gold jewellery weighing about 16 tola and Rs 15 lakh cash went missing," Krishnaiah alleged in his complaint.
During the preliminary enquiry, Krishnaiah told police that about two years ago, he sold some agricultural land in Mahadevpur village of Kondurgu mandal in Ranga Reddy district and got some money.
"Some jewellery was purchased with the proceeds of the sale, and along with that, the remaining cash was kept aside in the almirah for my daughter's wedding in the future," the complainant said.

The almirah lock was also intact. We received the complaint on Friday and started an investigation," Nandigama police said.
