The show has generated significant buzz and continues to keep viewers hooked. In the recent episode, the viewers saw ACP Pradyuman, played by Shivaji Satam, return to the show.
He announced that Dr Salunkhe, played by Narendra Gupta, was the traitor among them. The revelation came as a big shock to the fans and many of them were speculating that this could be the end of the show's most beloved character.
Dr Salunkhe admitted to betraying CID, citing long-standing frustration with others receiving credit for solving cases. He was later imprisoned, effectively ending Narendra Gupta's long run on the show. Known for his forensic brilliance, Salunkhe's sudden shift in character was a tough pill to digest and fans seemed dissatisfied as the character was one of the key highlights of the show.
Many users took to X and expressed their disappointment over the reason for Dr Saluknhe's betrayal. A user commented, 'I did not watch any episodes of CID Season 2 yet, but I recently saw the news that Dr Salunkhe turned out to be a gaddar in the CID team, and it seems to have faced severe backlash from audiences, which it deserved in my opinion."

Narendra Gupta was a part of the show since its inception in 1998.
As the character is now shown being sentenced to life imprisonment, it looks like Dr Salunkhe's time in the show has now come to an end. However, the makers are yet to comment on the same.
The show also features celebs like Dayanand Shetty, Aditya Srivastava, Shraddha Musale and Janvi Chheda in the leads.
