From classrooms to code: Students tackle real-world issues with innovation
Over 37,000 students from 660+ districts across India participated in a national-level innovation challenge, showcasing future-ready solutions under the banner of a transformative education and technology initiative. The event, held on June 15 at The Ashok, New Delhi, celebrated the creativity and impact-driven thinking of students from Grades 8 to program, organised in partnership with CIET-NCERT, IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, and the UN Global Compact Network India, concluded with the felicitation of the top 10 student teams selected through a rigorous three-stage evaluation process. More than 250 guests attended the ceremony, including finalists, school representatives, and year's competition saw over 5,600 tech-based project submissions under the theme 'Tech for Good'. Entries ranged from crime detection and environmental sustainability to public safety and rehabilitation. The top five projects were awarded scholarships ranging from Rs 75,000 to Rs 6 lakhs each, while finalists ranked 6 to 10 received Rs 25,000 first prize went to Prateek Sethi from Odisha for developing an AI-powered criminal activity detection system using sensor-less Wi-Fi sensing, a non-intrusive surveillance solution aimed at public safety. Other winning innovations included:ArmX, a smart rehabilitation glove-robotic system for individuals with one-hand Run for Green Souls, a project enabling wind-powered EV charging Arduino-Based LPG Leak Detector, enhancing domestic safety with a real-time tree health monitoring device built for environmental conservation.A special segment also spotlighted women scholars supported under the STEM-focused empowerment initiative for girls from underserved backgrounds, many of whom are now enrolled in top-tier institutes as first-generation finale was hosted by tech expert Rajiv Makhni and attended by dignitaries such as Prof Indu Kumar (CIET-NCERT), Mr Ratnesh Jha (UNGCNI), and Mr Rajendra Mootha (IITM Pravartak), among initiative reflects a growing movement to embed innovation, sustainability, and real-world problem-solving in the Indian school system. vivo India to hold 3rd edition of vivo Ignite in collaboration with NCERT, IIT Madras
vivo India is set to conclude the third edition of its flagship CSR initiative, vivo Ignite, in collaboration with NCERT (CIET-NCERT), IIT Madras, and UN Global Compact Network India (UN GCNI). The program aims to empower students from grades 8-12 by providing them with resources, mentorship, and a platform to develop tech-driven solutions for real-world societal challenges. The grand finale of vivo Ignite is scheduled to take place on June 15th at The Ashok, Chanakyapuri, starting at 10 am. The event will showcase exciting projects developed by budding innovators who have participated in the program. This initiative encourages young minds to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to address pressing societal issues

Supaul girl to represent Bihar in ‘Know Your Leader' prog at Parl
Patna: Vibha Pariyar , a student of Lalit Narayan Laxmi Narayan Project Girls High School in Supaul, has been selected as the sole representative from Bihar to deliver a speech in the 'Know Your Leader' programme at the Parliament. Organised by CIET-NCERT, Vibha is among 31 students from across the country invited to participate in the event, which will be held on May 9 to mark the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore . Supaul district programme officer (DPO) Mehtab Rehmani visited Vibha's school to encourage and mentor her in preparation for her speech in Parliament. The programme is an initiative of the Union ministry of education, in collaboration with the Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE) and the Lok Sabha Secretariat. It falls under a special campaign titled 'Participation of Youth of Our Country in Paying Homage to Our National Leaders on Their Birth Anniversary in the Parliament House'. As part of the event, a floral tribute ceremony will be held in the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan.
