CGV to screen Seventeen's concert film
K-pop powerhouse's 'Right Here' world tour will hit silver screens Wednesday Multiplex chain CGV announced Tuesday it will bring Seventeen's "Right Here" world tour to Korean theaters starting Wednesday. The film captures the group's performances at Goyang Stadium in Gyeonggi Province that kicked off their fourth world tour in October. The global trek ultimately included 30 gigs across 14 cities in Asia and North America before wrapping up in Bangkok in February, drawing over 1 million fans in total. While UK-based Trafalgar Releasing has teamed up with CJ 4DPLEX for the film's global rollout, CGV, CJ 4DPLEX's parent company, will exclusively oversee the Korean theatrical release. CGV plans to screen the film in various premium formats including IMAX, 4DX, and ScreenX. The 4DX screenings promise motion effects perfectly synced to the group's choreography, alongside wind and snow effects that mirror the confetti and pyrotechnics from the live concerts. "The film captures Seventeen's signature energy and precision choreography down to the smallest detail," said CGV Icecon business team leader Kim Jin-ho. "We're excited for fans to experience the raw excitement of the concert and create lasting memories in our theaters." Since their 2015 debut, Seventeen has cemented its status as one of K-pop's most influential acts. The 13-member boy band placed two albums at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, topped the Billboard Artist 100, and earned the title for the best-selling album worldwide in 2023 with their 10th mini album "FML," which sold more than 6.4 million copies according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Their global profile soared in 2024 as they became the first K-pop group to grace the Glastonbury Festival stage and headline Lollapalooza Berlin, while also accepting their appointment as UNESCO's Goodwill Ambassador for Youth. Fans catching the film in Korea can snag one of 11 different A3-sized photo posters available to ticket holders on a first-come basis. A dedicated photo zone showcasing the group's unit stage costumes will also be featured at CGV Yongsan until April 24. Tickets for "Seventeen [RIGHT HERE] World Tour in Cinemas" are now available through CGV's mobile app and website.
