Chatham libraries to offer free plant seeds in September
Chatham-Kent Public Library is announcing the return of the plant seeds program.
The initiative is called CKPL Grows Seed Library: Fall Native Plants to Ontario and Canada. Starting Sept. 2 all branches of CKPL will have a small variety of native plant seeds available for check out.
This seed library contains native plant seeds for many popular local plants including Black-Eyed Susan, Butterfly Weed, Swamp and Common Milkweed, Purple Coneflower, and New England Asters to name a few.
The seed library provides free seeds for residents to borrow so they can grow healthy gardens, have access to affordable flowers to create beautiful spaces in their own backyards and communities.
