Maxis, China Mobile Launch CMLink Mobile Virtual Network Operator Business In Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 (Bernama) -- Maxis Bhd has forged a partnership with China Mobile International (CMI) to launch CMLink, CMI's mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) business in Malaysia.
It said in a statement that the collaboration marks CMI's first MVNO venture in Malaysia, expanding its global CMLink footprint after launches in the UK, Singapore, Japan, Thailand and Italy.
Maxis said the partnership deepens the ongoing collaboration with CMI and accelerates growth and innovation in the telecommunications sector.

"Maxis looks forward to supporting CMI's network needs through its advanced and truly integrated network capabilities, which combine extensive fibre infrastructure with a modern mobile network.
"Maxis' network excellence has consistently received independent recognition globally for performance in mobile speeds and user experience.
According to the telco, CMLink will be hosted on Maxis' award-winning nationwide network, leveraging its fast, reliable and secure mobile network to deliver a seamless voice and data experience across 4G and 5G.
CMLink's key features include one card, multiple numbers (1CMN) and China-Malaysia data sharing services -- tailored for students, and professionals living in and travelling to Malaysia, ensuring they stay connected effortlessly between China and Malaysia, it said.
"The partnership was formalised during the 2025 China Mobile SEA Cooperation Conference held in Kuala Lumpur on Aug 13, 2025.
"This partnership serves as a cornerstone of Maxis' commitment to fostering the MVNO ecosystem in Malaysia, underscoring its readiness to support innovative partners in this space," said the telco.
