Coeptis Announces Merger with Z Squared, Marking Strategic Pivot into Dogecoin Mining

Former biotech company moves to capitalize on altcoin infrastructure, led by Dogecoin-focused mining operations. Coeptis Therapeutics Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: COEP) has entered into a definitive agreement to merge with Z Squared, a digital asset mining company focused on Dogecoin (DOGE) and other altcoins. The transaction marks a significant change in direction for Coeptis, which is shifting away from its biopharmaceutical business to focus fully on the cryptocurrency mining sector. As part of the deal, Coeptis will acquire Z Squared's large-scale mining operation, including hardware valued at approximately $660 million, hosting agreements across multiple jurisdictions, and proprietary software systems designed to manage energy use and optimize performance in real time. Dogecoin plays a central role in this pivot. Once known mostly for its origins as a joke, DOGE has since become one of the most visible cryptocurrencies, with a market cap of more than $20 billion and a global user base that remains highly active. For COEP, this visibility—and the volatility that comes with it—offers a chance to participate in an altcoin segment that has often remained out of reach for public market investors. A Shift from Biotech to Blockchain Coeptis plans to spin off its biopharma assets into a separate company, allowing its public-facing entity to focus entirely on digital asset infrastructure. Leadership of the combined business will include David Halabu as Chief Executive Officer and Michelle Burke as Chief Operating Officer. Burke, who previously served as COO of Minting Dome Inc., brings experience in managing international mining logistics and hardware deployment. That experience will be key as the company works across different energy markets and regulatory environments. Z Squared's mining strategy is built around flexibility. Rather than relying on a single facility, it partners with hosting providers in multiple regions to take advantage of favorable electricity pricing and local policy conditions. The company's real-time analytics engine helps it adapt to changing power markets by continuously reallocating hash power and managing power curtailment as needed. Opening a New Lane in Public Markets This merger creates a new option for public investors interested in altcoin infrastructure. While most publicly traded mining companies are focused almost entirely on Bitcoin, COEP's entry into Dogecoin and Litecoin mining offers a different kind of exposure. It's a niche that has drawn growing interest, but until now has had limited availability in the public market. Z Squared has also taken steps to address operational pressure points. The company has built internal logistics and repair capabilities that help reduce equipment downtime and extend the lifespan of mining rigs. This approach lowers capital costs and creates a more durable infrastructure in a competitive space where margins can shift quickly. With this merger, COEP is positioning itself to serve a part of the crypto ecosystem that continues to grow in relevance but has been underserved by public market offerings. The move is both a break from its past and a bet on where digital infrastructure is headed next. About Coeptis Therapeutics Holdings, Inc. Coeptis Therapeutics Holdings, Inc. REUTERS/Dado Ruvic/Illustration/File Photo (REUTERS) As part of this reform, the university has doubled its seat intake in several major branches. The intake for Computer Science and Engineering has been increased from 150 to 300 seats, while Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering have both seen a jump from 75 to 150 seats each. The Instrumentation and Control Engineering programme has expanded its intake from 38 to 60 seats, and the Bachelor of Planning programme has gone up from 60 to 75 seats. These changes have been implemented to meet the growing need for trained professionals in both core and modern engineering sectors. In addition to the intake hike, COEP has restructured its undergraduate programme in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. The course has been renamed as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with an intake of 75 students. The change is aimed at making the programme more focused and relevant to current academic and industry terminology. Speaking on the development, vice-chancellor of COEP Sunil Bhirud told HT that 'while AI and IT-related careers are rapidly gaining popularity, it is equally important to ensure that foundational engineering disciplines are not overlooked. Today, everyone is talking about AI and trending technologies, but our country still needs good civil and electrical engineers. Unfortunately, many engineering colleges are reducing intake in these core branches. We decided to go in the opposite direction by reinforcing these areas because they are vital for our future.' Alongside these changes, the university has also launched a set of specialised courses in AI and Machine Learning. New offerings such as AI in Signal Processing, AI in Healthcare, AI and Robotics, Intelligent Communication Systems, and Material Process Technology have been introduced across undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These interdisciplinary subjects are designed to integrate core engineering with next-generation technological skills, preparing students for a rapidly evolving job market. Bhirud also said, 'This academic overhaul reflects COEP's broader vision of shaping well-rounded engineers. This is not just about numbers. We are preparing engineers who will lead in sectors ranging from smart infrastructure and robotics to data science and healthcare technology.'

If you dedicate yourself, you can achieve anything: 99.99 percentile MH CET topper

'For me, taking a drop year after Class 12 was a tough decision. A lot of relatives questioned it, but my parents constantly encouraged me to accomplish my goal,' said Shreya Pandey, who scored 99.99 percentile in the recently announced MH-CET PCM stream results and dreams of joining the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) Technological University. Shreya described how sticking to a daily routine made all the difference. 'I never skipped classes or tests, took short notes, and did all the homework given. Not skipping tests helped me understand where I was going wrong,' she added. Speaking to The Indian Express at a felicitation event by PhysicsWallah, Pandey admitted mathematics was her biggest hurdle initially. 'Solving maths was extremely tough at first. But the more I practised, the easier it became,' she shared. Shreya preferred attempting chemistry first during the exam, followed by physics and maths. 'Aspiring candidates should solve at least 60 to 70 previous year papers. It helps in managing time and spotting weak areas,' she added. Vaishnavi Sarje, another applicant who scored 99 per cent, also hopes to secure a seat at the COEP Technological University. She echoed the importance of consistent effort and planning and emphasised how avoiding backlogs and preparing short notes streamlined her preparation. 'Not letting topics pile up means you can complete the syllabus on time and revise properly. Short notes help during the last stretch,' she said. Vaishnavi shared that she followed the order of physics, chemistry, and maths in the exam, which helped her stay calm and focused. Both students concluded by underlining how crucial their parent's support had been during the journey. 'My parents believed in me at a time when others doubted my decision to take a gap year. They constantly motivated me and reminded me that I could achieve my dream. That made all the difference,' said Shreya. Echoing the same sentiment, Vaishnavi said, 'When you know your family is behind you, you're able to push through the difficult days. Their encouragement is what helped me stay focused.'

Maharashtra CET results for PCM announced

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell declared MHT-CET result on Monday for Physics Chemistry Mathematics (PCM) group. 22 students have scored 100 percentile in the entrance exam which determines admission to engineering colleges in Maharashtra. Among the toppers, most (14) have already moved on with admission to the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) such as Arnag Nigam from Thane, who was All-India Rank (AIR) 11 in JEE-Advanced. Out of remaining eight candidates, four of whom are from outside of Maharashtra are yet undecided, whereas four students are keen on joining engineering colleges in Maharashtra. Among them is Vaishnavi Sarje from Nanded district. Daughter of a farmer, Vaishnavi is keen to take admission to Mumbai's VJTI for Computer Science Engineering. 'I always wanted to study engineering. Last year I appeared for NEET, the medical entrance test because my father wanted me to pursue medicine. But my score was low and I would have gotten admission to BAMS which we did not want. So I took a year's gap and studied for CET on my own with support available online through YouTube tutorials. My class 12 teachers helped with doubts,' said Vaishnavi, who did not appear for JEE or the National level entrance exam for engineering admissions, as she wanted to focus on just the one exam. Anil Patil who is also from Nanded and has scored 100 percentile, has a similar story. A farmer's son, Anil had appeared for CET last year. 'But my score was around 90 percentile. So I decided to take a gap and study harder for a better score,' said Anil who also took help of free online tutorials to study, after having attended a local CET-coaching class for his first attempt. He is delighted to have taken another chance at CET. 'Now I will get admission to COEP for Computer Science Engineering,' said Anil whose dream is to eventually appear for civil service exams to become a government officer. Chinamy Chavan from Pune, another student with 100 percentile, decided to appear only for MHT-CET. His father Vikas Chavan, said, 'Generally engineering aspirants appear for both entrance tests JEE and CET, to try their luck. But we suggested to Chinmay that it is better to focus on one test and excel there. And he really has made us proud.' Chinmay stayed in Kolhapur for two years, away from family in Pune to prepare for CET at Zenith Academy. He is now looking forward to getting admission to either VJTI or COEP. A total of 4,64,263 candidates had registered for the MHT-CET (PCM) and 4,22,663 appeared for the exam. There are 43,299 students in the 90 to 99.99 percentile bracket. Whereas the highest number of students 44,788 are in the bracket of 70 to 79.99 percentile. Out of 22 students who scored 100 percentile, six are from Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), and all of them have already secured admissions to different IITs, based on JEE-Advanced score. These students are Meer Bhuva, Pranav Mitri, Siddhant Ghate, Gandhar Vartak, Anirudh Iyer and Arnav Nigam. 'As engineering aspirants, joining IIT is the ultimate dream. I had appeared for CET as practice and back-up,' said Mitri who sort of summed up the emotions of most of these six IIT aspirants from Mumbai. AS MHT-CET result was declared, some parents and students complained of inaccurate marking. One of the parents said, 'Despite 152 marks, my son has scored 89 percentile. With no negative marking in MHT-CET, this calculation is unbelievable.' Parents of aggrieved students said that they are individually approaching CET Cell with their issues. An official from the CET Cell however said, 'This confusion happens because candidates are not aware of the normalisation formula which is required to declare percentile as CET is held on multiple days and in different shifts.' There were similar issues raised last year too following which CET Cell had provided clarification on the formula used for normalisation.

DOGE Mining Firm Z Squared To Go Public Through Merger

Z Squared, a firm that specializes in mining dogecoin (DOGE), the dog-themed memecoin that was propelled to mainstream recognition by Elon Musk in 2021, is merging with biopharmaceutical company Coeptis (COEP). The merger will enable the resulting company to keep DOGE mining operations going, while Coeptis' pharmaceutical business will be spun out and operated separately. As a result, the firm will become one of the largest publicly-traded companies with a primary focus mining dogecoin and other cryptocurrencies like litecoin (LTC). 'Going public provides us with broader access to capital markets to fuel the growth of our mining operations and pursue additional strategic opportunities we believe will be accretive to shareholders,' Z Squared CEO David Halabu told CoinDesk in an email. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2025. The combined entity will have 9,000 U.S.-based DOGE mining machines. The company declined to share revenue figures with CoinDesk. COEP is down 37.5% on the day. Spun out from Bitcoin (BTC) in 2013, Dogecoin follows a similar Proof-of-Work consensus mechanism, meaning that miners compete to solve an algorithmic problem in order to produce the next block on the blockchain; whoever solves it first is awarded coins for their efforts. At $27 billion in market capitalization, DOGE is currently the eighth largest cryptocurrency, just ahead of Cardano's ADA and Tron's TRX. With the bitcoin mining industry becoming extremely competitive in the last few years, mining operations are seeking new avenues for revenue — by dedicating resources for AI purposes, for example, or mining other cryptocurrencies like dogecoin and litecoin. Bitcoin mining firm BIT Mining (BTCM), for example, announced in December that it had made three times more money mining DOGE and LTC than BTC since it expanded into those cryptocurrencies. Z Squared isn't the first crypto miner to go public using this strategy. Other entities such as Core Scientific (CORZ) and TeraWulf (TERA) employed a similar playbook in 2022. UPDATE (April 25, 18:40 UTC): The article was updated with extra context about bitcoin miners going public through mergers.
