E1 vs S1 for Hysilens: Which should you prioritize in Honkai: Star Rail?

Hysilens, as the most recent entry to the Honkai: Star Rail roster, provides an outstanding Damage-over-Time (DoT) composition synergy. As she arrived, a dilemma emerged for many players: whether to invest resources in unlocking her first Eidolon (E1) or obtaining her signature Light Cone, "Why Does the Ocean Sing?" Both alternatives bring about improvements in her performance, but to different magnitudes and levels of usefulness.
It is critical to be knowledgeable of the various team configurations and how each of the upgrades has a role to play when making an informed investment, especially when one wants to leverage their potential without stretching their limited Stellar Jade.

Hysilens' E1 is greatly regarded as the most impactful upgrade, especially in DoT-focused teams. Here's why:

E1 multiplies the number of DoT instances she can apply, from four to eight. This means much higher damage production throughout the battle.
Teamwide damage boost:
This gives an advantage not only to Hysilens but also to other teammates who maximize on DoT effects, for instance, Kafka, Black Swan, and Robin.
Synergy with meta comps:
Modes like Memory of Chaos, where the fight takes a longer time than usual, the extra DoTs add up.
S1 – Signature light cone benefits
