Youth alone can save country from communal forces: CPI
Tirupati: Youth alone can save the country from fascist and communal forces threatening unity and integrity of the nation, stated CPI State joint secretary Muppalla Nageswar Rao. Speaking after inaugurating 2-day Jana Seva Dal training programme, a youth volunteer organisation of CPI here on Saturday, Nageswar Rao said the communal BJP led by PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah is trying to change the constitution to suit their needs and becoming a major threat to peace and harmony in the country. The responsibility of saving 140 crore Indians from corporate and communal forces lies on the shoulders of young communists, progressive forces and intellectuals, he said, urging youth to be prepared for any sacrifice to protect constitution, parliamentary democracy and secularism. He informed that the party is organising various programmes to promote secular and democratic spirit among the people.

DMK is not the AIADMK to be afraid of Enforcement Directorate raids, says CM
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday said the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) was not AIADMK to be afraid of Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids. Speaking at the CPI State conference titled 'Velga Jananayagam', the Chief Minister said the Union government was threatening the leaders of the Opposition parties, and referred to the ED raid at Minister I. Periyasamy's house on Saturday. 'We are not Edappadi K. Palaniswami to form an alliance with the BJP immediately after raids are conducted in relatives' houses. The DMK has faced many revengeful acts like this. Tamil Nadu people have political awareness, and they will defeat the BJP. In the 2026 Assembly election, the DMK alliance will win, defeating all such plots,' he said. 'The unity of our alliance is troubling many. Therefore, former Chief Minister Palaniswami is suddenly showing love towards Communists. No one is a slave to anyone. The Dravidian movement and Communism grew against slavery,' Mr. Stalin added. The Communists never forget to criticise the government, and the government does not forget to fulfill the demands of the Left parties. This is democracy, and so the alliance continues, he said, urging the democratic forces to unite against casteism and majoritarianism. 'Those who are against secularism and social justice are trying to divide the alliance, but their intention will not succeed. Eventually, democracy wins, and we [the democratic forces] have the responsibility to make it win,' he said. Mr. Stalin further announced that a memorial would be built near Salem Central Prison, where 22 Communist cadres were killed in the 1950 firing. He said instructions were given to the officials concerned, and that the works would begin on Sunday. Later, the Chief Minister reached Dharmapuri district, and participated in a road show from Adiyamankottai to Travellers Bungalow near the Collectorate.
