Suspicious package investigation closes Calgary park
The CPS bomb squad was called in to investigate a suspicious package left at Central Memorial Park on July 8, 2025.
Calgary police are investigating a suspicious package that was left in a southwest park on Tuesday.
Officials blocked off a large area near Central Memorial Park after someone spotted the item in the afternoon.
Traffic was restricted on 12 Avenue between Second and Fourth Street S.W. for the incident.
The CPS bomb unit and K9 unit was brought in to assist in the investigation.
The item was safely removed hours later and the area reopened to the public.
Officials have not shared any further information about what it was or why it was left there.
