CSIR NET Result 2025 News: What if a question asked in the test is wrong? Check NTA's marking criteria

NTA said that the results will be prepared based on the CSIR UGC NET final answer key, and the final answer key will be released along with or ahead of the results. NTA said that negative marking for wrong answers, wherever required, will be applied according to the exam's subject-wise scheme. It added that if a question is found to be wrong, marks will be awarded to only those candidates who attempted it. After the result is announced, NTA will not accept any grievances or representations regarding the answer key. The CSIR UGC NET exam 2025 was held on July 28, 2025, in computer-based test (CBT) mode for 1,95,241 candidates across the country. Candidates who appeared for the exam can now download the provisional answer key and their response sheets through the official website, The last date to challenge the provisional answer key is August 3, 2025. Candidates will be required to pay a fee of Rs 200 per question challenged. To raise an objection, candidates must provide adequate evidence to support their claim. All challenges will be reviewed by a panel of subject-matter experts, and if any changes are found to be valid, they will be incorporated into the final answer key. Today, July 31, is the last day to apply online for PhD admissions at Maharaja Ganga Singh University (MGSU), Bikaner for students who have cleared the CSIR UGC NET June 2025 exam. CSIR UGC NET June session 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has now issued the city intimation slip for the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (CSIR UGC NET) 2025. Candidates who have enrolled for the exam can download their city intimation slip at the official website at The joint CSIR UGC NET 2025 for the June session will be conducted in one day, i.e., on July 28. The test will assess students across five subjects such as Mathematical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Physical Sciences. The exam is to be held in CBT mode i.e. the computer-based test.
