In CUET UG 2024, the gender-wise breakdown included approximately 7.17 lakh male, 6.30 lakh female, and 7 transgender candidates. The rising numbers reflect the growing importance of CUET UG in undergraduate admissions across India. Several key factors influence the cut-off scores for CUET UG 2025. These include: The total number of candidates who appeared for the exam The number of available seats across participating universities The candidate's category (General, SC, ST, OBC, etc.) The overall difficulty level of the exam paper The performance of all candidates in CUET UG 2025 These elements collectively help universities set their merit lists for admission. The marking pattern for CUET UG 2025 is straightforward: +5 marks for every correct answer –1 mark for each incorrect answer 0 marks for questions left unanswered or unattempted Candidates are advised to answer carefully, as incorrect responses will lead to negative marking. To ensure fairness across different shifts with varying difficulty levels, the NTA uses a percentile-based normalisation method. This method compares a candidate's performance with others in the same session. Here's what you need to calculate your normalised score: A: Your raw score B: The number of candidates who scored equal to or less than you in your session C: The total number of candidates who appeared in that session The formula used is: (B ÷ C) × 100 For example: If you score 121 in a session where 41,326 candidates appeared and 37,244 candidates scored the same or lower, your normalised percentile score would be: (37,244 ÷ 41,326) × 100 = 90.1224411 Percentile scores are calculated up to seven decimal places to maintain accuracy in rankings.
