The fraudster Gurpej Singh alias Peja, a resident of village Rajapur of Panipat district, was nabbed by a police team led by Inspector Om Prakash. A police spokesperson said according to the complainant Akash, a resident of Kalayat, he came into contact with the accused Gurpej Singh in his quest to get a tourist visa of Australia, for which Gurprej demanded Rs 14 lakh. For this, the accused got three lakh 70 thousand rupees in cash and five lakh 79 thousand 700 rupees online from Akash at different times. The accused took the money and said Akash would get his tourist visa which will be converted into a work visa on reaching Australia. In June 2024, Gurpej sent a visa to him.
