CWS Workwear to build new laundry in Blarney Business Park

Workwear provider CWS is the latest business to operate from the growing Blarney Business Park, taking on a long-term lease at the JCD Group development. The new facility at Block 8007 will consist of 32,000 square feet of Grade A space and will involve an investment of €20m between the construction of the building and installation of the latest state-of-the-art equipment. The building is being built to achieve LEED Gold certification and BER A3 energy rating with construction work currently underway and practical completion due in the first quarter of 2026 to be operational from the second quarter. CWS Workwear was founded in 1899. The company has operations spanning 15 countries with a team of 5,300 professionals across more than 100 locations. CWS Workwear's infrastructure includes more than 30 industrial laundries in Europe serving a base of over 35,000 customers to over 1.5 million people daily. "Our investment of €10m demonstrates our commitment to our customers in Ireland and to the Cork area, where we have been operating since 2004," CWS Workwear Ireland MD Anita Coote said. "The new laundry is set to meet the latest standards and requirements in terms of automation, efficiency and sustainability." JCD Group has, in recent years, completed 440,000 sq. ft of new buildings in Blarney Business Park with occupiers including Merck, DHL, doTERRA, Nisbets, Park Place Technologies, FedEx and Paardekooper. The company recently completed the 20,000 sq ft and 10,000 Sq Ft Blocks 8008 and 8009. Construction of Block 8006 which extends to 57,500 sq. ft is due to commence construction early 2026. Denis Mulcahy, Commercial Property Director with JCD Group, said: 'We are delighted to be working with CWS Workwear on delivering their new state-of-the-art facility. Their significant investment demonstrates their commitment to the region. "CWS workwear are a great addition to the park with a long history of employment in the area. Blarney Business Park is proving itself as a key employment hub for the north side of the city and is benefiting from recent investments in public transport and is adjacent to the proposed Blarney Park & Ride and Railway station.'
