Fans React to Tigers' Tarik Skubal News After Brewers Game
The Detroit Tigers immediately rebounded from their series-finale 5-1 loss to the Minnesota Twins on Sunday by defeating the Milwaukee Brewers via a 9-1 score to start a three-game set at American Family Field in Milwaukee Monday night.
Behind another sterling performance from reigning American League Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal and ample production from their offense, the Tigers were able to stymie Milwaukee, which has now dropped three consecutive games.

The 28-year-old Skubal pitched seven scoreless innings with nine strikeouts and zero walks on 91 pitches. He was at this top form in the contest, with the Brewers unable to get someone on the base until the fifth inning.
With his strong performance, Skubal became just the first Detroit pitcher since the turn of the millennium to record seven scoreless frames with no free passes issued and nine punchouts on 91 or fewer pitches in a game, according to the Tigers' communication department.

After the game, Skubal opened up about his approach on the mound.
'I care about every inning,' Skubal said, per Ryan Herrera of 'I care about every inning getting zeros and getting our team back in ready to hit. I try not to let the score impact who I am. I'm pitching every game as if it's 0-0.'
On the season, Skubal has a 2-2 record with a 2.66 ERA and 1.01 WHIP.
With their win on Monday, the Tigers became the first team in the AL to notch 10 wins, and they will look to get their 11th of the season this Tuesday with Jack Flaherty expected to start against the Brewers.
