Tesco shoppers have just DAYS left to double the value of their Clubcard points just in time for the summer holidays

TESCO customers have just days left to get their hands on an extra £10 in Clubcard points, just in time for the summer holidays. Shoppers have until July 29 to exchange £5 worth of Clubcard vouchers with one of Tesco's Days Out Reward Partners. 1 These include big-name attractions such as Cadbury World, Thorpe Park, Legoland Windsor and The London Eye. Meanwhile, if you live in Wales then you can exchange your points for a WWT annual membership or trip to Tenpin bowling. Once you have done so 1,000 worth of Clubcard points will be added to your account by October 19. To get the deal, you need to exchange at least £5 worth of Clubcard points with a rewards partner. To do so simply sign into the Tesco grocery and Clubcard app or go to 'My Clubcard account'. Next browse the reward partners and choose one you would like to spend your vouchers with and complete your order. The bonus is limited to one reward per Clubcard membership, which means even if you make more than one exchange, you will still only get one £10 top up. Meanwhile, if you have joined your Clubcard account with a spouse or other family member then you will only get one bonus in this promotion. The offer does not apply to entertainment partners including Cineworld, Disney+ or Picturehouse. The deal is the latest in a series of offers aimed at helping Tesco customers to make their money go further. Earlier this year the major supermarket was offering triple points to customers who exchanged their points with select reward partners. To be eligible customers simply needed to make a qualifying purchase from the Tesco Marketplace between May 13 and June 4. Meanwhile, Sainsbury's recently gave Nectar customers triple points on selected brands in a limited-time deal. Plus, Lidl regularly hands out digital coupons for £10 off a £40 shop to customers. How to save money on your food shop Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save hundreds of pounds a year: Odd boxes - plenty of retailers offer slightly misshapen fruit and veg or surplus food at a discounted price. Lidl sells five kilos of fruit and veg for just £1.50 through its Waste Not scheme while Aldi shoppers can get Too Good to Go bags which contain £10 worth of all kinds of products for £3.30. Sainsbury's also sells £2 "Taste Me, Don't Waste Me" fruit and veg boxes to help shoppers reduced food waste and save cash. Food waste apps - food waste apps work by helping shops, cafes, restaurants and other businesses shift stock that is due to go out of date and passing it on to members of the public. Some of the most notable ones include Too Good to Go and Olio. Too Good to Go's app is free to sign up to and is used by millions of people across the UK, letting users buy food at a discount. Olio works similarly, except users can collect both food and other household items for free from neighbours and businesses. Yellow sticker bargains - yellow sticker bargains, sometimes orange and red in certain supermarkets, are a great way of getting food on the cheap. But what time to head out to get the best deals varies depending on the retailer. You can see the best times for each supermarket here. Super cheap bargains - sign up to bargain hunter Facebook groups like Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK where shoppers regularly post hauls they've found on the cheap, including food finds. "Downshift" - you will almost always save money going for a supermarket's own-brand economy lines rather than premium brands. The move to lower-tier ranges, also known as "downshifting" and hailed by consumer expert Martin Lewis, could save you hundreds of pounds a year on your food shop. The schemes offer vital help to families struggling to keep up with rising food prices. Food price inflation rose for the third consecutive month in June, piling further pressure onto families struggling to make ends meet.

'I went to Cadbury World without any kids to see if it's worth it as adults'

Cadbury World is a popular attraction in Birmingham for chocolate-lovers and one woman shared her experience of visiting the site as an adult with no children to see if it would still be worth it Cadbury World is a chocolate lover's dream as it offers visitors the opportunity to learn how the chocolate is made, enjoy a pot of melted chocolate and get some free Cadbury chocolate bars to take home with them. The site opened in Birmingham in 1990 and quickly became one of the city's most popular tourist attractions. ‌ Amber Taylor visited Cadbury World but wasn't sure if it would be enjoyable without children. She posted her experience on TikTok and said: 'There is a high possibility I'm going to be way too old for this but we're going to give it a go anyway. We're giving Cadbury World a go as adults so let's see how it goes.' ‌ The TikTok user was treated to three free Cadbury chocolate bars when she arrived at the site and she chose Wispa, Dairy Milk and Dairy Milk Caramel. ‌ She mentioned you can buy a purple Cadbury branded bag to put the treats in and it costs £1.50 for a small bag or £2.50 for a big one. Amber added: 'So when you go inside you go around a set route where you can see how chocolate was made years ago, all the old advertising and a few shows, but my favourite bit was this one where they give you a pot of melted chocolate and you can pick two toppings to put in it.' The chocolate fan opted to have Oreo crumbs and white chocolate buttons in her pot and reported that it tasted 'so good". ‌ She then showed the 'have a go zone' where you can do some chocolate drawings and try to temper some chocolate. Next on the route was the 4D cinema experience, complete with motion seats, loud music and periods of darkness that Amber admitted was better than she expected. ‌ The sweet treat lover continued: 'There's also this little ride that you can go on where you go around and shoot at screens to collect all the ingredients which did actually break up the route quite nicely.' Other areas guests can visit are the cafe that has lots of different Cadbury food and drinks to enjoy, such as hot beverages, freak shakes and ice creams, an outside playground, interactive machines and photo opportunities with a green screen that can make you look like you're surfing on a chocolate bar. After taking some photos Amber headed to the gift shop and declared that those who love chocolate will be 'in for a treat". ‌ She went straight to the chocolate section, skipping past the souvenirs, after spotting that nearly all the products were being sold at a discounted price. Amber concluded: 'So I was kind of worried this was just for kids but honestly, we had a great few hours out the house.' Reflecting on her trip, she found that Cadbury World is 'great' for a family day out or adults looking for something fun to do for a few hours. ‌ Her TikTok video has garnered 327,100 views, 18,600 likes and more than 100 comments in two days. One user said: 'Been to Cadbury World twice as [a] kid, once when I was too small to remember it and once when I was a bit older (maybe 8/9) and seeing this has made me want to go back, looks really good.' Another added: 'Never too old for this! I went and it's so worth going as an adult as you understand more!' Standard tickets to visit Cadbury World start from £19 if you book in advance and the website states that pre-booking is essential.

Chocolate makers create 300kg, 7-foot tall Easter egg – Britain's heaviest

An independent British chocolate brand has created an Easter egg which it claims is the UK's biggest and heaviest. Kent-based Cocoba made the chocolate creation, which weighs nearly 300kg and stands at 7ft tall, over about five days after many hours of planning. It has been given the name The Good Egg because once Easter has passed, it will be melted down and turned into about 3,000 limited edition chocolate bars, with a percentage of profits supporting local charities. Piecing together the mammoth handiwork, which is equivalent in weight to three baby elephants, was not an easy feat, taking two attempts to get right. On the first try, the chocolate cracked and broke when chocolatiers took it out of the mould, but on the second attempt, the egg was assembled in four pieces to make sure it would not break. Giant Easter eggs seem to be all the rage at the moment, with Cadbury World crafting the world's largest Creme Egg which weighs 45kg and is 3ft tall. Cocoba is no stranger to dabbling in giant eggs, with its 2kg and 4kg Easter eggs being bestsellers. The latest 300kg egg was born out of a product review last year which challenged the chocolate brand to go heavier for 2025. When Cocoba founder Darren Litton saw the review, he joked the chocolatiers needed to set their sights on a bigger creation. Litton said: 'We don't take ourselves too seriously and as the experts in creating giant chocolate eggs, we all had great fun in bringing this 300kg mega egg to life. 'We are also passionate about making premium chocolate products with a difference, and it's nice to be able to give something back to community by donating some of our profits. Particularly as we are aware of ongoing cost-of-living challenges and the rising price of chocolate.' Lukasz Zajac, head chocolate engineer, said making the egg was 'quite technical' because of factors including chocolate shrinking when it cools down. He added: 'It's definitely one of my biggest achievements as a chocolate engineer. 'Darren might think twice next time, before challenging us to go bigger and better for Easter!' The Independent
