DALEVILLE — State police have released the identities of a man who was killed and another who was critically injured in a fiery head-on collision April 29 on Indiana 67. Jordan Xavier Ivy, 22, Muncie, died in the 8 a.m. crash, according to the Delaware County Coroner's Office. Austin Douglas Duncan, 24, Albany, was critically injured. According to state police, a Cadillac XT5 SUV, driven by Ivy, was southbound on Indiana 67 between Delaware County roads 600 West and 700 West when it drifted across the center line and collided head-on with a Ram pickup driven by Duncan. Cadillac ending production of three-row, gasoline-powered XT6 SUV

DETROIT, April 8 (Reuters) - General Motors GM.N is discontinuing the Cadillac XT6 gasoline-powered three-row SUV at the end of 2025, the automaker said on Tuesday. The XT6 is built at Spring Hill Assembly in Tennessee where GM also produces the smaller gasoline-powered Cadillac XT5 SUV, which GM will continue making through the end of 2026. The Spring Hill plant also has the Cadillac electric SUVs Lyriq and Vistiq. GM's luxury brand has been focused on offering an all-electric lineup to customers. The move is not related to recently imposed auto tariffs, the company said. "Cadillac has introduced six new products in less than a year that represent the future of the brand," the company said in a statement. "We will continue to make the necessary adjustments to the portfolio to maintain growth in critical luxury segments." Cadillac discontinued the gasoline-powered XT4 SUV earlier this year. CNBC reported the end of the XT6 SUV earlier on Tuesday. Last week, Reuters reported first that GM would increase production of full-size trucks at its Indiana plant. Those trucks are also built in Mexico and Canada.

Dead: Chevy Blazer, Again

Read the full story on The Auto Wire Once again, the Chevy Blazer is going to be axed from GM's lineup, at least if a recent report is to be believed. That's right, the little crossover that bore the name of an off-road legend, angering many gearheads, might already be heading for that garage in the to GM Authority, the gas-powered Chevy Blazer will be retired along with the Cadillac XT5 and XT6. All three use the same platform. In a move that's baffling many, reportedly the Chevy Blazer EV will continue to be made for this market at a time when electric vehicle popularity is dropping rapidly. Just as weird is the fact this move leaves a gaping hole in GM's model lineup. The Blazer was the final ICE-powered two-row midsize crossover. Perhaps the automaker believes consumers will flock to EV options instead? If not, that lets the Toyota RAV4, Nissan Rogue, Ford Escape, and others snatch up market share in that segment. GM hasn't confirmed or denied the claim that the ICE-powered Chevy Blazer is being discontinued. Supposedly, the GM Ramos Arizpe production facility in Mexico, which has been churning out Blazers as well as the XT5 and XT6, is being retooled to make only EVs. There are already some electric models rolling out the door there, including the Chevy Blazer EV, Equinox EV, and Cadillac Optiq. As GM Authority points out, while excitement for the new Chevy Blazer was high after it launched in 2019, after 2020 sales have slid rapidly. That's likely factoring into GM's shifting strategy, although it doesn't explain why the automaker would completely abandon a popular and fairly profitable market segment, gas-powered midsize crossovers. Apparently, the ICE Chevy Blazer's end of production only applies to North America. It's also made in China, although the crossover in that market is a little larger and has three rows of seats, so production will continue there.
