Pride in New Orleans: Parade, festivals and more
New Orleans is rolling out the rainbow carpet for Pride, with dozens of events scheduled through the weekend.
Why it matters: About 5% of adults in New Orleans identify as LGBTQ+, one of the highest percentages in the country.
Fun fact: Café Lafitte in Exile is believed to be the oldest gay bar in North America.
Between the lines: Pride is different from Southern Decadence, another large LGBTQ+ celebration over Labor Day weekend.
