In the heart of Cairns' Botanic Gardens, where World War II oil tanks rise amid lush rainforest, the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CAIF) returns to its birthplace this July with the powerful theme Pay Attention. CIAF curator Bruce Johnson McLean explains why this year's fair feels like a homecoming and how artist Tony Albert has shaped his curatorial vision.
