Barktoberfest being held in Thibodaux
THIBODAUX, La. (WGNO) — Fun for people and pets is returning to Thibodaux!
Barktoberfest will be held at the Laurel Valley Plantation on Sunday, Oct. 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. According to a news release, it is a community-driven outdoor festival held annually, dedicated to supporting HOPE for Animals, a rescue organization in South Louisiana. The event aims to bring people and pets together to celebrate local culture and compassion.
New Orleans' Mid City Trader Joe's now open
There will be a mix of Cajun music, local food and other vendors. Guests can enjoy cold brews soft drinks. One dollar from every snowball purchase supports local causes.
Other event highlights include a dog zone filled with games for pups, a dog costume contest and a dog parade. Local vendors will offer crafts, pet supplies and unique goods.
Admission is $5 per person. Children under five and pets enter free. All proceeds benefit HOPE for Posts
