Empowering pupils' 3R skills

SANDAKAN: Eleven Year 6 Special Recovery pupils from eight primary schools here recently took part in the 'Cakna Pemulihan: Celik Chef Pemulihan Khas 2025' programme at the Special Education Integrated Programme (PPKI) kitchen of SMK Muhibbah. The programme was organised by the Sandakan District Education Office (PPD) through its Special Recovery Education Unit, Learning Sector, in collaboration with the Sandakan Special Recovery Teachers' Council (MGPK). The programme, among others, aims to enhance creativity and innovation among Special Recovery Education teachers, while also supporting the goal of ensuring zero Year 6 Special Recovery pupils through alternative pedagogical approaches. Through the milk sesame biscuit-making activity, all participants had the opportunity to sharpen their basic reading, writing, and arithmetic (3R) skills in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
