Saturday Boredom Busters: April 19th
SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — Celebrate the holiday weekend by tracking down Easter eggs. Easter Egg Hunts are taking place in downtown Sioux Falls from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the Great Plains Zoo from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Sanford Ball Diamonds at the Sanford Sports Complex beginning at 11 a.m. and at Calvary Elite Gymnastics & Tumbling in Tea from 1-3 p.m.
The Sioux Falls Comic & Toy Show is a family-friendly event focusing on toys, cosplay, vintage video games, action figures and of course, lot of comic books. It's taking place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ramkota Exhibit Hall. Admission is $5, free for ages 12 and under.
AMC Collective in Sioux Falls is hosting a Spring Magnet Make & Take. Paint or color your wooden magnets featuring Easter and springtime designs from noon to 3 p.m. The cost is $4 per magnet.
It's the final day of Spring Fling in downtown Sioux Falls. 27 businesses are taking part in the promotion by offering bargains to customers as well as chances to win $25 gift cards.
The City of Sioux Falls Leaf & Branch Drop-off sites are open for the spring. They're located at Lyon Boulevard, south of the fairgrounds and on Chambers Street, near the Household Hazardous Waste Facility. Today's hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday's hours are noon to 5 p.m.
The Orpheum Theater in downtown Sioux Falls presents the Easter musical The Passion and the Cross. The performance is at 2 p.m. Sunday's show time is 4 p.m. Tickets go from $15 to $20.
Movies playing at the historic State Theater include Funny Farm, rated PG, Bruce Almighty, rated PG-13 and The Departed, rated R.
The Wells Fargo CineDome & Sweetman Planetarium at the Washington Pavilion features T-Rex, Mars: The Ultimate Voyage, 3-2-1 Liftoff and Robot Explorers
New movie releases playing at a theater near you include Drop, rated PG-13, plus Sinners and The Wedding Banquet, both rated R.
The Palace Theatre in Luverne, MN is featuring A Minecraft Movie, rated PG. Showtime is 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
The Stampede hockey team takes on the Waterloo Black Hawks in USHL playoff action at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. The puck drops at 6:05 p.m.
