Police: Drugs, handgun seized in raid of Johnstown home
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – A Johnstown man was jailed Wednesday after authorities raided a home and seized methamphetamine, money and a firearm, police said.
Johnstown police charged Edwin C. Roane, 44, of the 1100 block of Linwood Avenue, with drug-related counts and illegal possession of a firearm.
According to a complaint affidavit, Johnstown police and the Cambria County Special Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at the home Wednesday, finding Roane, a second adult and two children.
Police allegedly seized 16.8 grams of crystal methamphetamine, a scale and $250 in cash.
Police also allegedly found a Ruger 9mm handgun in a closet. The methamphetamine and the handgun were being sent to the state police crime laboratory, police said.
Roane is not allowed to possess a firearm after previously pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute drugs, the affidavit said.
Roane was arraigned by District Judge Michael Zungali, of Hastings, and sent to Cambria County Prison in Ebensburg on $100,000 bond.
