Ranchi gears up to host Yoga Day on a grand scale
Ranchi: In the run-up to the 11th , educational institutions and organisations across the state capital are actively conducting yoga sessions and awareness drives to promote the importance of yoga in daily life. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now As part of these celebrations, DAV Public School, CCL Gandhinagar, organised a grand procession involving over 500 students from classes V to VIII on Monday. The procession, which passed through Gandhinagar Colony, Kanke Road, and Jawaharnagar. The school has also planned a week-long series of yoga-related programmes, including training sessions by yoga experts. Principal Pradeep Kumar Jha said, "In today's fast-paced and stressful life, yoga is essential for everyone. It is not associated with any religion but is a priceless gift of ancient spiritual tradition that promotes purity of consciousness and curbs negative tendencies of the mind." Several other private schools in the city, including Cambrian Public School, DAV Alok, Kairali School, Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Vivekananda Vidya Mandir, and Sarala Birla Public School, are also holding yoga sessions and awareness activities throughout the week. Principal, of Firayalal Public School, Niraj Kumar Sinha said, "The aim is to underscore yoga's role in enhancing physical health, mental well-being, and holistic living. " Moreover, govt schools across the state have also joined the state's Yogmay campaign. From June 11, all govt and govt-aided schools have been conducting mass Surya Namaskar and yoga protocol sessions, with over 9 lakh students and teachers participating across the state daily.
