Al Rawda Camel Racetrack hosts inaugural Al Ain Camel Racing Festival on Friday

3 July 2025 21:56 AL AIN (WAM)Under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Ain Region, the Presidential Camels and Camel Racing Affairs Centre will host on Friday, July 4, the inaugural Al Ain Camel Racing Festival at Al Rawda Camel Racetrack in Al be held under the supervision of the Camel Racing Federation, the event promotes camel racing as a sport deeply rooted in the UAE's cultural festival will feature three preliminary rounds to be held during July, August, and September of this year, and a total of 605 races, including competitions dedicated to trophy awards across various age categories. A final round of challenges is set to take place in early October 2025. Substantial prizes will be awarded to riders and participants throughout the Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the UAE and Chairman of the Camel Racing Federation, expressed his pride in the launch of the first edition of the festival, praising the wise leadership's support for this authentic national heritage and the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al stressed that the festival represents a strategic step in the development of camel racing in the country, and enhances the participation of owners, especially young people, in this vital heritage sector, ensuring the sustainability of the Emirati heritage and its transmission to future generations. The event reinforces Emirati identity and highlights the nation's enduring commitment to its cultural roots and heritage.

18 May 2025 13:57 ABU DHABI (WAM) His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, attended a lunch banquet hosted by Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President and Chairman of the Camel Racing Federation, in Al Wathba, Abu event was attended by a number of prominent camel owners from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.H.H. exchanged cordial conversations with the attendees, focusing on the importance of camel racing and the role of the annual concluding festival, 'Al Wathba Final 2025,' in strengthening the stature of this traditional festival is considered one of the region's most prominent events, consistently achieving success across various levels.H.H. also toured the new 8-kilometre camel racing track in Al Wathba, which was inaugurated in conjunction with the start of the Al Wathba Final 2025. The track was completed in just 60 days, under the direct supervision of H.H., marking a qualitative leap that opens new horizons for the sport of camel racing.H.H. praised the infrastructure of the new track, emphasising that the growth and spread of camel racing are a result of the continued support and patronage of the wise leadership. This has made it one of the most prominent traditional sports, highly regarded by heritage reception featured traditional performances and folk songs presented by heritage troupes, celebrating the presence of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin vibrant cultural display reflected national pride in the country's rich heritage and conveyed a spirit of welcome and appreciation.
