McDonald's security guard shot dead by 15-year-old following dispute, Maryland cops say
A 15-year-old boy was arrested after being accused of fatally shooting a security guard at McDonald's, Maryland law enforcement said.
On Jan. 12, Baltimore officers responded to reports of a shooting and found the security guard, later identified as 38-year-old Jamal Davis, with gunshot wounds, according to a Facebook post by the police department.
'Jamal was not just a member of our team but a part of our family. His unwavering dedication, quiet professionalism, and genuine kindness left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered,' the Cameo Consultant Company, an area security business, said in a Jan. 13 Facebook post.
The shooting came after a dispute at McDonald's, where Davis was working as a security guard, police told WMAR.
Officers didn't specify what led to the altercation.
Danitra Bell, the owner of the McDonald's, said she was 'completely devastated by the tragic and senseless act of violence,' according to WJZ-TV.
The 15-year-old, who police didn't identify, was arrested Jan. 28 and sent to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged as an adult with first-degree murder, officials said.
'Jamal's positive energy and compassion enriched our lives in ways words cannot fully capture. He was an inspiration to us all, and his legacy will continue to influence our work and our bonds as a team,' Cameo Consultant Company said on Facebook.
