GoPro Adds Ultra Wide Lens Mod to HERO13 Black Special Edition Camera
GoPro, Inc. GPRO has introduced a new special edition of its flagship HERO13 Black camera — the HERO13 Black Ultra Wide Edition — designed to elevate first-person video capture with a dramatically expanded field of view. The company's latest edition, priced at $479.99 in the United States and available globally, features the Ultra Wide Lens Mod pre-installed, delivering an ultra-immersive 177-degree field of view, significantly expanding width by 36% and height by 48% over the standard lens. For added versatility, the package also comes with a standard lens. GoPro, Inc. price-consensus-chart | GoPro, Inc. Quote The Ultra Wide Lens Mod, when paired with the HERO13 Black, delivers robust performance with features like unbreakable HyperSmooth stabilization across all video modes up to 4K60, Horizon Lock for 360 degree rotation stability, ultra wide vertical capture without the need to rotate the camera and a scratch-resistant, hydrophobic lens coating that repels water. As part of GoPro's HB-Series Lens lineup, the Ultra Wide Lens Mod also supports the HERO13 Black's Auto Detect feature, which recognizes the attached lens and auto-adjusts camera settings accordingly. The HB-Series includes three other specialty lenses: the Anamorphic Lens Mod ($149.99), offering cinematic 21:9 footage with built-in de-squeeze; the Macro Lens Mod ($149.99), enabling up to 4x closer focus than the standard lens; and a 4-pack ND Filter Set ($89.99), which delivers smooth, cinematic motion blur with varying ND levels (ND4 / ND8 / ND16 / ND32). In April 2025, GoPro began shipping its new Anamorphic Lens Mod for the HERO13 Black, enhancing the camera's capabilities for filmmakers and content creators seeking professional, cinematic visuals. GoPro offers the HB-Series Lens Collection — a complete bundle featuring all four lens mods housed in a convenient, protective case — priced at $449.99. Headquartered in San Mateo, CA, GoPro is one of the leading manufacturers of the world's most handy cameras. It also manufactures mountable and wearable capture devices such as action cameras and related accessories. Its core product is the HERO line of capture devices, which was initially launched in 2004. Recently, the company reported first-quarter 2025 non-GAAP loss per share of 12 cents, narrower than the Zacks Consensus Estimate of a loss of 13 cents. The firm reported a loss of $2.11 per share in the year-ago quarter. However, GPRO generated revenues of $134.3 million, down 13.6% year over year due to lower accessory sales and a rise in price promotions. This was partially offset by growth in subscription and service revenues. GoPro's first-quarter results highlight its strategic focus on operational efficiency and long-term growth. Operating expenses fell year over year, while subscription ARPU increased, reflecting improvements in revenue quality. The company continued to diversify its supply chain to better adapt to changing market conditions. Currently, GoPro has a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). GPRO's shares have lost 49.2% in the past six months against the Audio Video Production industry's growth of 31.9%. TikTok Launches AI Tool to Animate Photos
Israa Farhan TikTok has officially launched TikTok AI Alive, an innovative image-to-video feature that brings static photos to life using generative AI. Announced on Tuesday, the feature is now available through TikTok's Story Camera, allowing users to transform still images into dynamic short-form videos with creative, atmospheric effects. Designed to enhance visual storytelling, TikTok AI Alive applies motion and sound to elements within a photo. For example, a serene beach snapshot can be animated with drifting clouds, shifting sky tones, and ambient wave sounds. Group selfies can also be brought to life, highlighting facial expressions and subtle movements. This marks TikTok's first major leap into image-to-video AI, building on its earlier text-to-image generator. While platforms like Instagram and Snapchat have integrated similar AI tools, TikTok is now taking the lead by offering native video generation from images within its app interface. Snapchat has indicated plans to introduce a similar feature, but TikTok has launched first. Each AI Alive video will carry an AI-generated label, alongside C2PA metadata: This ensures transparent identification of AI-created media, even when shared outside the platform. TikTok emphasised user safety and responsible AI use in its announcement. The company applies a multi-layered moderation system, reviewing the original photo, AI generation prompt, and the resulting video before it is shown to the user. Final safety checks occur once the content is published. To create an AI Alive video, users can open the Story Camera via the blue plus button on the Inbox or Profile page, select an image, and tap the AI Alive icon in the edit toolbar. read more UAE's Lunar Mission Delayed to Tomorrow Twitter Lifts Trump's Account Ban Scientists Find Evidence Of 10،000 Black Holes Surrounding The Center Of The Milky Way Galaxy Greenhouse In Antarctica Able To Grow Vegetables Without Soil Or Sunlight Moving Over China: U.S. Is Again Home to World's Speediest Supercomputer Technology The 10 most expensive cars in the world Technology Top 10 fastest cars in the world Technology Lasers Could Make Computers 1 Million Times Faster Technology Smart technology taking control of our lives News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War

TikTok launches TikTok AI Alive, a new image-to-video tool
TikTok is launching its first image-to-video AI feature, the company announced on Tuesday. The new feature is called "TikTok AI Alive" and allows users to turn static photos into videos within TikTok Stories. The feature is only accessible via TikTok's Story Camera and uses AI to create short-form videos with "movement, atmospheric and creative effects," TikTok says. For instance, if your static photo features a sky, clouds, and the ocean, TikTok could turn the photo into a video where the sky gradually shifts hues, the clouds start to drift, and you hear the sound of waves crashing. Or, you could animate a group selfie that highlights gestures and expressions. The launch of the new image-to-video features comes a few years after TikTok introduced an in-app text-to-image AI generator. While both Instagram and Snapchat also offer text-to-image AI features for creators, TikTok is now taking a step further by offering its users the ability to create videos from images. It's worth noting that Snapchat has said it will soon allow creators to generate AI videos from images. AI Alive stories will have an AI-generated label to notify users that the content was created with AI. Plus, this content will have C2PA metadata embedded, which is a technical standard that helps others identify that the video is AI-generated, even if it's downloaded and shared beyond TikTok. "We are always building with safety in mind, and the same goes for our AI innovations," TikTok said in a blog post. "As this technology enables new forms of creative expression, it undergoes multiple trust and safety checks to protect our community. To help prevent people from creating content that violates our policies, moderation technology reviews the uploaded photo and written AI generation prompt as well as the AI Alive video before it's shown to the creator." TikTok notes that people can report videos that they think break the app's rules, and that the app conducts a final safety check once a creator shares an AI Alive story. Creators can create an AI Alive video by opening the Story Camera and tapping the blue plus button on the top of the Inbox page or Profile page. From there, you can choose a photo from your Story Album. You will then see the AI Alive icon on the right side toolbar on the photo edit page. Podcast Corner: New show offers insight into Jerry Springer
Jerry Springer died over two years ago and so far in 2025 we've had the two-part Netflix documentary Jerry Springer: Fights, Camera, Action, and now Final Thoughts: Jerry Springer, a nine-part documentary exclusive to Audible and likely for a wider release later this year. It's hosted by Leon Neyfakh, who's headed Slow Burn and Fiasco over the years. Those shows - and Neyfakh himself - are meticulous. During the second episode of Final Thoughts, he details a decades-old itinerary for a given day when Springer was running for Cincinnati city council: 'On one Saturday alone, he attended a local civics meeting, a neighbourhood festival, two parades, and a college football game. He then went to a wedding and a high school fair, and closed out the day with a telethon, a church dinner banquet, a cocktail party, and a visit to a local Democratic club.' This is where the podcast outranks the Netflix show - the first four episodes focus on his pre-chat show life rather than the de rigueur outrages for which his show became known. Springer was born in London during the Second World War to Jewish refugee parents, who emigrated to the US a few years later. They always discussed politics around the dinner table; it's where he started pontificating, says his sister. Springer was a city councilman, mayor of Cincinnati, a rising star in the Democrat Party (soundbites compare him favourably to Bill Clinton and he's dubbed 'Kennedy-esque'), and spent a decade as a news anchor. He undertook stunts for causes he believed in, such as sleeping overnight at a prison to explain the circumstances facing inmates. As his news anchor personality grew (was he news or opinion? The line grew every more blurred), stunts included dressing as a homeless man. The podcast naturally hits the same beats as the Netflix documentary from there, as The Jerry Springer Show - 'the worst TV show of all time' - battles for ratings and top spot with Oprah, runs ever crazier plots, is morally questionable with the guests it books, and producers detail the impact it took on their own lives ("Can we get this over with so I can leave? I don't want to do this, I don't know why I'm doing it, I'm tired of talking about the show, it's been a whole lifetime ago," says Richard Dominick, who viewers of the Netflix show will remember and was key to Springer's ascension). The show ran for 27 years and over 4,000 episodes, ending in 2018. Neyfakh ponders the impact it has left and offers a reason for the podcast's raison d'etre: 'It doesn't seem crazy to suggest that this globally iconic show had a real impact on how people treat each other and talk to each other and what sorts of things we're willing to share in public about our private lives. "It also doesn't seem crazy to suggest that Springer softened the ground for well, y'know...'' - cutting to a soundbite about Trump, a soundbite declaring him 'the Jerry Springer Show of politics'.
