Jackson police arrest 4 suspects after one killed in Fourth of July shooting on Cooper Road
Jackson police have arrested four suspects after one person was killed in a shooting on the evening of the Fourth of July.
JPD Public Information Officer Tommie Brown said the shooting occurred around 9:50 p.m. on Friday, July 4, in the 900 block of Cooper Road.
Brown said the victim, 23-year-old Gabriel King, was shot and died at the scene.
On Saturday, July 5, four suspects were arrested in connection to this case: two adults and two juveniles.
Police said three of the suspects — Cameron Russell, 24, and two 17-year-old juveniles — were charged with murder. The fourth suspect, Daniel Taylor, 24, was charged with accessory after the fact.
King's death was one of two fatal shootings that occurred this year on the Fourth of July in Jackson.
