Luis Campos Extends Role as Qatar Sports Investments Sports Advisor Until 2030

Luis Campos has committed his future to Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), with the Portuguese sporting director extending his role as Sports Advisor to the group until 2030. Campos, who initially joined QSI in June 2022 on a three-year deal, will now continue to shape the group's overarching sporting strategy for at least the next five years. The new agreement cements his position as a central figure in QSI's expansive football and sports portfolio, including continued oversight of Paris Saint-Germain's men's football operations and an advisory role at Portuguese side SC Braga. The extension was confirmed on Thursday by QSI Chairman Nasser AlKhelaïfi, who praised Campos for his influence over a period of significant sporting and strategic growth within the organisation. Sporting Success at PSG and Braga Under Campos' leadership, Paris Saint-Germain have collected three Ligue 1 titles, a Coupe de France and three Trophée des Champions titles over the last three seasons. The club also reached the latter stages of the UEFA Champions League consistently, including a final, a semi-final, and a round-of-16 appearance. Campos' influence has not been limited to the French capital. SC Braga, in which QSI holds a minority stake, have progressed both domestically and in Europe, bolstered by his strategic guidance and focus on youth development. A Vision Beyond the Pitch Beyond results on the pitch, Campos has played a key role in expanding QSI's wider football and sports network. He will now lead efforts to identify new multi-club ventures and untapped talent assets, as QSI looks to grow its global footprint in sport. Youth development remains a cornerstone of the strategy. PSG's academy, operating from its state-of-the-art Campus in Poissy, recently made headlines after fielding six academy graduates in a single Ligue 1 fixture against Montpellier. Similarly, SC Braga has evolved into one of Europe's most respected talent incubators under Campos' watch. Leadership Backed by AlKhelaïfi 'We are delighted to renew Luis Campos as Sports Advisor at QSI until 2030,' said AlKhelaïfi. 'We are building our project for the long-term and Luis has done a great job over the past three years. We have great stability, purpose and collective focus within our group.' Campos expressed his gratitude for the continued backing from QSI's leadership: 'We can be very proud of how we have transformed the clubs, companies, projects and ethos within our Group. I truly believe this is only the beginning of our successes.' With Campos at the helm of sporting operations, QSI appears set to continue its trajectory as one of the most ambitious and influential players in global football.

Docs: Gig Harbor family shot at close range in the head; one was still alive when fire was set

A man has been arrested and charged, accused of killing his father and brother before setting their Gig Harbor home on fire. On April 8, around 8 p.m., crews were called to a large house fire on 14th Ave NW in Gig Harbor. Neighbors reported hearing a loud explosion before the fire broke out. Two bodies, a 61-year-old and a 31-year-old were pulled from the fire. They were identified as father and son. It was later determined that the two men were killed before the fire was set. Court documents say both victims had gunshot wounds to the head and were shot at close range. One of the victims had carbon monoxide in his blood, indicating that he was still alive, despite having been shot in the head, when the fire tore through the home. Another family member called law enforcement on April 10, saying he was trying to get in contact with the victim's other son, but was unable to. Later, family was able to contact that other son at work, but he refused to speak with them. He also refused to speak with officers or hear anything about the news of his family, according to court documents. READ MORE: Homeowner shocked that man living in his home arrested for Gig Harbor double murder Court documents did not detail what led investigators to look at the son as a suspect, but Luis Miguel Huitron Campos, 25, was arrested and charged for the crimes. Huitron Campos was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and arson. According to court documents, Huitron Campos' phone pinged by the Gig Harbor house at the time of the fire. There was no listed motive for the alleged murders, but court documents said that Huitron Campos' father had taken out about $100,000 from his retirement to pay for a variety of expenses. A family member reported that he brought money from this account to Mexico to pay off construction costs, but it is not known how much money he brought with him. According to court documents, the following were found when a search warrant was executed for Campos' car and property: In a shed, propane and gas tanks were found. In Campos' vehicle, investigators located a grey rag that Deputy Fire Marshall Cody Jenkins said had tested positive for some accelerant (he used a self-calibrating handheld device that tests for accelerants) In the residence, two cell phones were found in Campos' bedroom. In that same bedroom, a ballistic vest, a (13 round capacity) 9mm gun magazine, Heckler & Koch (VP9) 9mm pistol with 4' barrel, a (13 round capacity) magazine seated in the firearm with only 10 rounds in it, and a (25 round capacity) box of 9mm Hornady pistol rounds, with only 12 rounds remaining. There are 3 rounds missing (22 total found) reasonably consistent with the number of bullets used to kill the victims. The Hornady brand and caliber, matches that of the casing found at the crime scene by victim [father's] body. Financial documents showing a partial payment of $4,500 in May 2025 at KT Auto Sales Laptop, which is consistent with one seen in Bullseye [shooting range] footage, that Campos used to show images of an Israeli firearm which retails for about $2,700. According to court documents, Campos allegedly asked a gun range employee about this type of firearm, which is not legal in Washington.

PSG Sporting Director Luis Campos in advanced talks with major European club

PSG Sporting Director Luis Campos looks increasingly on his way out of Paris's Parc des Princes. According to Sacha Tavolieri, the Portuguese manager is in advanced talks with a 'major' European club because no agreement has been found so far over a contract renewal for Campos, despite head coach Luis Enrique pushing for it. Since his arrival in 2022, Campos has played an instrumental role in instilling a new philosophy at PSG, which has entailed moving away from signing big-name stars. There has been more of a focus on homegrown talents in France more generally, as well as those coming through the academy. As further proof of Campos' time at PSG looking over, the Portuguese is in the process of writing a book. Get French Football News understands that whilst talks with the Portuguese director are ongoing, the more time elapses, the less likely he is to sign a renewal, with his contract up at the end of the season. GFFN also understands that, in the event of Campos leaving PSG, former PSG director Antero Henrique could be in line to take Campos' job. Tavolieri understands that Campos' destination will be revealed soon. Considering Campos' success with Les Parisiens, it is no surprise a handful of ambitious European clubs have reached out to the PSG Sporting Director. GFFN | Bastien Cheval

Judge denies Campos' restraining order request against KRIS TV, city of Corpus Christi

A judge has rejected a temporary restraining order requested by a Corpus Christi councilwoman that would have forced a local broadcast station and the city to take down content on their sites related to a human resources investigation. City Councilwoman Sylvia Campos earlier this month took legal action against KRIS TV and the city of Corpus Christi following publications of material about a medical incident she experienced on March 4 that became the subject of an employee grievance. The situation, as described in a summary of the investigation from the city's human resources department, had made the employee feel uncomfortable and disrespected. The summary shows that human resources recommended limiting how Campos interacts with city staff, saying Campos should meet with staff through videoconferencing when possible and that more than one staff member attend if a meeting is in person. The Caller-Times is not describing Campos' medical issue in greater detail because of the sensitive nature of the topic. Court documents filed by Campos' attorney, Matt Manning, describe Campos as experiencing 'a medical event of a highly sensitive, embarrassing nature for which she had previously sought and requested treatment' after a meeting with City Manager Peter Zanoni. The broadcast story, and the statement subsequently posted by city officials responding to the KRIS TV story, disclosed 'private details of Petitioner's health information,' Manning asserts in records as part of an argument to grant the temporary restraining order. In his April 8 denial of a temporary restraining order, County Court at Law 4 Judge Mark Woerner wrote that Campos had 'failed to meet the necessary burden to warrant injunctive relief.' In addition to the temporary restraining order, Campos had also initially requested an injunction, as well as taking depositions. While an injunction would likely not be sought or granted, there is work underway to request a hearing on a petition for taking depositions, Manning said April 16. The petition, if granted, would allow Campos' representation to take depositions from station and municipal staff to explore potential claims against the city, KRIS TV or both. While city officials and KRIS TV representatives declined comment on the denial of the temporary restraining order, court records shed light on their positions. Among arguments that had been made in court filings against Campos' requests were First Amendment questions, as well as the length of time the material had already been within public view. Although Campos had taken legal action as a private citizen, court filings against the temporary restraining order pointed out that Campos is generally thought to have less privacy because of her position as a councilwoman elected to her post. Manning has contended in records that the KRIS 6 publication 'had no bearing on Ms. Campos' fitness to serve or a substantial nexus to the communication issue with City staff; and publication of such fact stood only to embarrass her.' In an editorial posted April 3, KRIS TV senior director of local media content Jim Bob Breazeale wrote that what made it become a 'private matter into a newsworthy one was its impact on public resources, government operations, and proposed changes to how an elected official interacts with staff.' After the station's story publication March 28, the city posted a statement on its site the same day that officials said was needed to clarify misinformation. As part of the statement, it described the lodged complaint as 'behavior that is grossly inappropriate in a professional setting, even assuming that a medical incident explains what initially occurred in the conference room.' Earlier this month, city officials told the Caller-Times that the city had been 'careful to avoid violating anyone's potential privacy rights,' and denied that the municipality had 'unduly injured a person's reputation.' The response filed by the city, submitted by attorney Brian Miller on its behalf, described Campos' pleadings as 'unclear whether she asserts a defamation claim, an invasion-of-privacy claim, both, or neither.' The incident couldn't be considered as a 'purely personal matter,' Miller added in the city's response, 'because City employees witnessed various parts of the incident.' Miller noted that Campos had provided a statement for the KRIS TV story, as well as statements made in her court filings, which he asserted provided more medical information than the city's statement. He added that by attaching the KRIS TV story and the city's response as part of the legal documents, 'Campos has ensured public availability of the complained-of story and statement,' and noted that Campos had 'not sought injunctive relief against the Corpus Christi Caller-Times despite the newspaper twice mentioning more about Campos' medical condition than the City's statement.' In the KRIS 6 bench brief, attorneys with law firm Haynes & Boone LLP wrote that a temporary restraining order would have compelled 'KRIS to remove truthful reporting related to her interactions with the City Manager and his staff.' The document states that although Campos 'asserts that information in the KRIS story (and the City's statement) is harmful to her reputation—alluding to a claim for defamation—her potential claim appears to be one for invasion of privacy,' but did not plead either. Defamation claims fail 'because she has not alleged any statement made in the KRIS story is false—just that the statement in question is harmful, which she equates with being defamatory.' 'KRIS provided only the minimum amount of information about her medical condition,' KRIS TV's brief states, adding that the information was necessary to provide enough context for the story. There's an issue, also, for restraint on the First Amendment, according to its brief, which would 'compel KRIS to change its website and social media to take down speech with which Petitioner disagrees.' Arsenal in advanced talks to sign PSG target

Paris Saint-Germain may be in the market for a new sporting director come the summer. Luís Campos' contract with PSG is up in the summer, and whilst talks over a renewal are ongoing, it is not a given that they will lead to an agreement. There is currently a disagreement over the finances of the deal and the situation is the source of tension at the Ligue 1 side. L'Équipe understands that the result of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against Liverpool may prove decisive. Should Les Parisiens lose, Campos' time at the Parc des Princes could come to an end in a couple of month's time. As per L'Équipe, former Atletico Madrid sporting director Andrea Berta had been considered the main target in the event of Campos' departure, with some sources even evoking talks between the Italian and Nasser Al-Khelaifi. However, Arsenal could be about to put a spanner in the works. understands that Berta is the top target to replace Edu at Arsenal. The latter is leaving the Premier League side at the end of the season. Discussions have already taken place and are currently at an advanced stage, although there is not yet any agreement between Arsenal and Berta. GFFN | Luke Entwistle
