Young swimmers Yu Zidi, Summer Mcintosh making waves at World Aquatics Championships By CNA/Wallace Woon 12-year-old Chinese swimmer Yu Zidi qualified for the women's 200m individual medley final at the World Aquatics Championships, after finishing seventh fastest with a time of 2:10.22 in the semi-finals. Despite her young age, Yu has clocked some of the fastest times in the world this year. "I'm happy and I will keep trying my best in the future. I hope I can make a breakthrough at this competition and show what I'm truly capable of," she said. Canadian swimmer Summer McIntosh, 18, came in first at the semi-finals with a timing of 2:07.39. This came after she stormed to gold in the women's 400m freestyle earlier in the day.
