Iconic Aussie boxer reveals he's ‘forgiven' 50 Cent despite rapper ‘robbing' him of $1.7m
Former Australian boxing world champion Billy Dib has revealed he has finally put to bed his famous feud with 50 Cent, despite the American rapper still owing him around $1.7 million. Back in 2012 a young Dib had the world at his feet and signed on as one of 50 Cent's first clients when the American launched a boxing promotion company, SMS Promotions, in July 2012. But what first seemed like the big break the Aussie had dreamt of wasn't all it was cracked up to be, with his multimillion contract unpaid as the musician-turned-actor's boxing business filed for bankruptcy. While in the years after his dabble into boxing, 50 Cent continued to cash in on various acting roles, Dib found himself in a whole world of hurt. Speaking on The BillyJoe Podcast late last week, Dib revealed he is still owed around $1.7m from the 49-year-old rapper, who he says 'robbed him blind'. 'There are people that robbed me along the way. 50 Cent took me to the cleaners, he robbed me blind,' Dib said. 'But I made a decision when I was diagnosed with cancer that I was going to forgive him and I was going to forgive anyone who robbed me in the sport of boxing.' But after being diagnosed with cancer in October 2022, Dib says he decided it is best to forgive but he will never forget. 'Before I got sick 50 Cent was my enemy. He was on my mind at the time like how I let this man rob me,' Dib recalled. 'He signed me up on an amazing deal when I was 27 or 28. Signed me on a three-year deal on life-changing money and he basically in the end liquidated the company and just didn't pay me. 'When I finally got to the point where I needed the money from 50 Cent, I said I'm in dire straights and he said I'm going to sort it out. At the time he owed me 1.1m USD, life-changing money. 'I rang him and said I am in the hospital, I am in dire straights and he said in 2015 I'm going to sort it out right now. He put $50,000 in my account and liquidated the company. 'That's how he sorted it out. When I rang him and said I'm a lot short he said that's all you're getting and that should get you through whatever you're going through. 'Long story short I let that bother me for years. But after learning he was cancer-free in 2023, Dib decided he would forgive his 'enemy' 50 Cent. And after doing so the Aussie boxer says it was like a weight was lifted off him. 'I made a decision when I was in hospital that anyone who ever wronged me, I was going to ask them to forgive me if I wronged them or that I forgive them if they wronged me,' Dib said. 'He's (50 Cent) been living in my mind rent-free, the minute that I forgave him I set myself free.'

‘Waking up is a win' – John Daly, 59, releases worrying health update after 16th surgery as he skips PGA Championship
JOHN Daly will miss next week's PGA Championship as he recovers from his sixteenth surgery. The 59-year-old was hospitalised after a health scare in January where he had to have emergency surgery on his left hand. Two-time major champion Daly is not back to his best yet and has chosen instead to play in the Regions Tradition - the first of five majors on the PGA Tour Champions, only for players 50 and older. Daly has also battled bladder cancer and said to AP News: "I'm like Lazarus -- I keep coming back from the dead. "Waking up is a win for me." His health problems have taken a toll after his cancer diagnosis in 2020, after which he vowed to stop smoking and improve his lifestyle. Since his comeback in March after the most recent surgery he has been far from his best. His 2025 results so far are: tied 56th, tied 75th, tied 50th and 77th. Most recently he finished at 27-over par at the Insperity Invitational - a far cry from his winning result in 2017 and runner-up place in 2020. Daly questioned the schedule clash of the PGA Championship, to which he holds a lifetime exemption, and the Regions Tradition. He said: "Why are they scheduling Regions the same week as the PGA Championship where I can see Brooks [Koepka] and all the guys? "I can go [to the PGA Championship] and miss the cut and get $6,000, but I'm playing Birmingham. I love Regions." The American is not the only big name to be missing from Quail Hollow as Tiger Woods is also out, after recovering from surgery on his left achilles tendon.
