38 Things With Thousands Of 5-Star Ratings If You Trust Reviewers More Than TikTok Influencers

A set of extra soft cooling "hotel" bedsheets with so many 5-star ratings (almost 250,000!) you'd think they were capable of permanently curing insomnia. No promises, but some people are saying they never want to get out of bed. An Intex outdoor swimming pool in case you've always dreamed of having your own pool, but haven't won the lottery yet. This rust-resistant PVC and polyester option can be set up in just 30 minutes, so grab your goggles. And don't worry about its durability: One reviewer said this thing survived a hurricane. A hair-lightening spray to brighten up hair by TWO shades or more! Spritz a little of this citrus and chamomile spray onto damp hair, then activate it with heat-styling tools. I recommend blow drying and hitting it with a curling iron or straightener for the best results. Over 7,000 5-star raters love it because it's less harsh than bleach and even works on dark hair. A laundry backpack, complete with a mesh pocket for detergent and dryer balls, if you like to wait until truly the last minute to lug your stuff to the laundromat. The heavy duty, tear-resistant drawstring bag has thick straps so you can comfortably carry up to three loads of laundry at once. A Revlon hot air brush over 400,000 5-star raters (!!!) love for its ability to create blowout-level looks right at home. Glossy, effortless waves are just a few brushes away! A super-soft longline sports bra some have compared to Lululemon's Align tank top for an Equinox-level workout look at a Planet Fitness price. Reviewers say it offers a little less compression, so you can wear it on casual days, too. And high-waisted leggings that have also been compared to Lululemon A LOT, like over-600-reviewers lot. They're buttery soft, pass the squat test, and have the perfect stretch-to-hug ratio. Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza — a card game delivering a heavy dose of high-energy, adorably illustrated fun right when you need it. It's been a long-time bestseller because people of all ages absolutely love it! A viral "Soft" perfume rollerball for anyone who wants people to think of them and think "yum." Happy customers compare this $5 fragrance to caramel, lemon cupcakes, warm vanilla scones, and cotton candy. A pack of Arm & Hammer dog wipes so you can keep pets fresh between baths. Use 'em for freshening up coats, muzzles, paws, and butts. Thousands of customers love that it has glycerin, aloe, and oat extract to moisturize, and the mango scent is a hit — at least, it's way better than wet dog smell stinking up the house. A pack of disposable shower hair catchers for people who often forget to clean the drain after a shower and feel too squeamish to maintain a device like the TubShroom. Over 7,000 5-star raters love that you can just close your eyes and throw these away when they're too hair-infested. A Stasher reusable silicone bag that's airtight, dishwasher and microwave safe, and sturdy as heck, making it the perfect replacement for disposable plastic bags. Captain Planet is on the phone, ready to congratulate you. And 10,000+ other Planeteers have already given this two thumbs up. A pack of washing-machine cleaning tablets designed to attack built-up detergent scum, dirt, and general grossness so your clothes can get as clean as possible. Throw in a tablet, run a normal wash cycle, congratulate yourself on a chore well done — and then maybe add another 5-star rating to the vast collection (over 176,900)!!!! And a dishwasher cleaner and disinfectant to help make the thing that cleans your clean. Its citrusy formula helps remove limescale, rust, grease, and other nasty buildup so your machine can run more efficiently, and you don't have to pick up the slack. Burn After Writing — a guided journal with questions and thought experiments that encourage readers to reflect, explore their feelings, and get to know themselves a little deeper. The first step to bettering yourself is knowing where to start, after all. One reviewer called this a life-changing purchase! A bottle of Bio-Clean, a hard water stain remover that obviously works, because it looks like they haven't considered their marketing or packaging since the '80s; the results do all the talking! Made with biodegradable ingredients, this solution cuts through stains, rust, and weird spots caused by mineral buildup. Picture this: opaque shower doors, soap-scummy bathtubs, stained tiles, and cloudy-looking pool floors, all suddenly glistening and shining like new. A set of Command spray bottle hangers to stick to the inside of a cabinet door for easy storage, so you can grab the multi-cleaner *the second* you hear food hit the floor. Customers keep these in cabinets, bathrooms, and laundry rooms so they can be prepared for any mess. A Nooni tinted appleberry lip oil if you normally forgo lip care because you're sick of ones that leave your pout feeling sticky, dry, or messy. The apple seed and raspberry extract-infused oil offers long-lasting hydration and a touch of color without you having to stress about it transferring or smudging. Or Etude Dear Darling Water Tint, a smudge-proof lip tint and blush offering such a delicate pop of color, you'll wonder why you ever bothered with lipstick or powdered blush. Reviewers love that it's buildable and doesn't transfer. A pack of Miracle-Gro water storing crystals that'll prevent both under- *and* over-watering, which I believe are the top two killers of plants. When you water your houseplants, the crystals retain the moisture and release it as the soil dries. Reviewers say they're saving money now that they don't have to replace dead plants as often. A set of plastic shoe cubbies so you can finally take care of Shoe Mountain. No mystery here: Your guests will appreciate not having to climb over your pile of sneakers, and your boots will appreciate not being squished into pancakes. It's been dubbed "the best shoe organizer on the market." Good Molecules Yerba Mate Wake Up Eye Gel in case you've always wanted to not only drink the energizing tea, but also wear it. This cult-fave can help quickly minimize eye puffiness and swelling using its combination of caffeine and hyaluronic acid. Finally, your eyes can look and feel as refreshed as you do after a bottle of White Label. And reviewer-loved Catrice "Instant Awake" Under Eye Brightener to expertly conceal and brighten dark circles under your eyes. The lightweight, color-adapting formula blends so seamlessly under makeup that your old concealer will throw itself out. Murdle: Volume 1 — a book featuring 100 logic puzzles from the popular daily puzzle site, Murdle. Armchair detectives can work to crack the case and find out who did it, where, and with what. There are four levels of difficulty, ranging from elementary to impossible, so you can stay challenged as you go. 3,500 junior detectives have already approved this book! A set of itty-bitty dermaplaning razors that will make quick work of peach fuzz, stray hairs, and eyebrows in need of a touch-up. They're designed with micro-guards, which means you don't have to worry about nicking yourself, even if you don't have the steadiest hand. People love that you can extend the time between threading appointments — or skip them altogether. Dawn Powerwash, an impressive spray-on dish soap capable of giving you those clean swipes through nightmarish messes previously only seen in commercials. Spray this on dishes, but you can also use it to tackle dirty range hoods, backsplashes, bathtubs, grills, or anywhere else with caked-on food or dirt. Almost 90,000 5-star raters salute this spray for its service. Divider sticky notes for note-takers who are not type A, but type A+++. The tabs will help break up the notebook and make it easy to scan, saving you more time to take more notes — and perhaps a glowing review. A trio of hydrating lip sleeping masks reviewers say offers a Laneige-like experience for just a fraction of the price. The berry extract and vitamin C work to moisturize lips as you go to bed, proving that beauty sleep is a real thing. A game-changing veggie chopper that will make quick work of your prep. Just add your veggies, slam down the lid, enjoy freshly chopped produce, and then throw the device in the dishwasher when you're done. 80,000+ 5-star raters are now crying tears of joy instead of tears from onion cutting. And a garlic rocker faster and easier to use than a traditional garlic press. Check out the results in this reviewer image! It's also waayy easier to clean — best not dwell on the trauma of trying to fit a sponge into one of those things. 😬 A luxury-scented candle that internet sleuths figured out smells just like the way pricier Le Labo Santal 33. It has an impressive throw, meaning you can actually fill your home with its calming jasmine, oud, and sandalwood scent instead of having to stick your nose right up to the flame. The Pink Stuff, an all-purpose paste that you can use to clean basically any surface — it works on everything from marble and wood to rubber boots and car steering wheels. You don't need to search on TikTok to get the deets on this one: Over 13,000 5-star reviewers love this product because it gets the job done with minimal scrubbing. Gold Bond's firming neck and chest cream to pamper your décolletage with some special skincare attention. The glycerin and aloe hydrate while the salicylic acid gently exfoliates, leaving over 12,000 satisfied customers with firmer, softer skin. A handy device that keeps track of whether or not the dog has been fed. Despite being reviled by gluttonous pups, this tracker is a hit with forgetful pet parents. An expanding file folder you can fill with up to 200 pieces of paper and free up sooo much desk space. These things are top-notch for organizing everything from restaurant menus to *sigh* tax forms. A Korean microdermabrasion mitt over 33,800 happy customers have already discovered and welcomed into their beauty arsenal. The washcloth offers deep exfoliation so you can banish dead skin in minutes while you shower. Really effective dental cleaning tablets reviewers love for cleaning retainers, dentures, or mouth guards in under 30 minutes. Say goodbye to that gross toothbrush you used to use every morning. A dog paw-cleaning device to keep Spot's feet squeaky clean, because you can't exactly put hand sanitizer on a dog. (Seriously, do not do that.) Fill the tube up with soapy water and let the soft bristles scrub away the day's walk. And, OK, wow: Over 40,000 people awarded this thing 5 stars for its convenience and efficiency.

QuickCheck: Was one of the characters in Captain Planet and the Planeteers inspired by a Malaysian?

Kids who grew up in the 80s will remember Captain Planet and the Planeteers. Each week, the titular group of diverse heroes would champion the environment and battle against villains who pollute the earth. In the show, Gaia, the spirit of the Earth, sends five magic rings to five chosen youths from around the world, known as the Planeteers. By combining the power of the magic rings, the Planeteers can summon Captain Planet when they need help the most. Is it true that one of the Planeteers was inspired by a Malaysian? Verdict: TRUE In a 2012 Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) post, one of the co-creators of the animated series, Barbara Pyle, confirmed that Gi, the Planeteer who has the power of water, was inspired by human rights advocate and environmental lawyer Chee Yoke Ling. Chee was also the executive director of the Third World Network, an independent non-profit international network of organisations and individuals involved in issues relating to development, developing countries and North-South affairs. While the show debuted in 1990, Che only found out that she was the inspiration for Gi, a decade later, during a chance encounter with Pyle on the streets of New York. Chee said in an interview that Pyle used to call her Gi because she could not pronounce the 'ch' sound. In addition to Chee, Pyle also said that another Planeteer, Linka, who has the power of wind, was loosely based on German Green Party co-founder Petra Kelly, while Planeteer Ma-Ti, who has the power of heart, was based on Paulinho Paiakan, chief of the Kayapó people and one of the best-known Indigenous defenders of the Amazon rainforest. While Captain Planet is a fictional character, you can contribute to making the planet greener and cleaner. Consider reducing the use of plastic bags and using tote bags instead, join a gotong-royong activity in the neighbourhood and make your home more climate-friendly. Remember, the power is yours! Captain Planet Returns as a Live-Action Netflix Series From Berlanti and DiCaprio

The live-action adaptation of Captain Planet and the Planeteers has finally received a major update, and it's no longer a film. Instead, Netflix has picked up Captain Planet for a live-action series based on the animated show. As reported by Deadline, the series will come from Greg Berlanti's Berlanti Productions, which is based at Warner Bros. Television, as well as Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way. The Captain Planet adaptation dates back to 2016, when Paramount Pictures announced that Glen Powell was co-writing a live-action film with Jono Matt, and that Powell could potentially star as well. However, over the years, the project never came together, despite Powell's repeated interest, as evidenced by multiple interviews. Mrs. Davis co-creator Tara Hernandez will write the adaptation, and while Powell is no longer involved, Deadline says sources confirm Matt is a producer. Captain Planet and the Planeteers was an American animated series that ran for six seasons, from 1990 to 1996. It had strong environmentalist messages, with many episodes ending with a direct appeal to the audience on issues like littering and pollution. You might also remember the infamous Funny or Die Captain Planet skit from 13 years ago, featuring Don Cheadle. In the series, a group of young adults are chosen by Gaia to become the Planeteers and protect Earth from environmental disasters. Each is given an elemental ring — Fire, Wind, Water, Earth and Heart — that helps them fight the Eco-Villains. When the power of the rings is combined, it summons Captain Planet, a Superman-esque hero with a host of powers. The series has received a number of video game and comic book spinoffs over the years. The most recent is a brand-new comic series, also called Captain Planet and the Planeteers, by Dynamite Entertainment, which launched on May 7, 2025. This series is more of a reinterpretation than a continuation. There's currently no planned date or window for Netflix's Captain Planet. Solve the daily Crossword

CAPTAIN PLANET AND THE PLANETEERS Live-Action Series in the Works at Netflix — GeekTyrant

Captain Planet and the Planeteers was an animated TBS series from the '90s about the titular environmentalist superhero, and we are about to see a live-action series adaptation of the show at Netflix with Greg Berlanti and Leonardo DiCaprio as executive producers. Tara Hernandez, best known for creating Mrs. Davis on Peacock and writing on The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon , is writing the new Captain Planet series. Executive producers include Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Leigh London Redman via Berlanti Productions and DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson via Appian Way. The series will shoot at Warner Bros. Television, where Berlanti Productions is under an overall deal. Captain Planet has been in development as a live-action adaptation in many forms over the years. Glen Powell had previously been writing a film based on the character for DiCaprio, which was first revealed in 2018 and as recently as 2023, Powell told reporters that his 'subversive and fun and dark and irreverent' take was still in development. According to the Captain Planet Foundation, 'In the show, Gaia, the spirit of the planet, assembles a team of five young 'planeteers' from nations around the world, who can summon Captain Planet to help them solve ecological and other global problems 'by their powers combined.' The show was widely acclaimed for its treatment difficult issues such as pollution, poaching, deforestation, as well as more social issues including drug addiction, HIV/ AIDS, and bullying in a way that educated, entertained, but also activated its young audience.' Stay tuned for updates on the series as it develops. via: Variety
