Gujarat State Fertilizers shares in focus as full 75 MW solar project goes live, expected to reduce energy costs

By Aditya Bhagchandani Published on June 26, 2025, 14:27 IST Shares of Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GSFC) are likely to remain in focus after the company announced the successful commissioning of the remaining 50 MW Phase-2 of its 75 MW Vastan Group Captive Solar Project. The project, developed in partnership with Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited (GIPCL), is now fully operational as of June 26, 2025. In a regulatory filing, GSFC said that it has started receiving power from the second phase on a 50% sharing basis, translating to 25 MW. The first 25 MW phase had already commenced supply in April 2025. With both phases now live, the company is receiving the full 37.5 MW of power from the project under the group captive model. The full operationalization of the 75 MW solar power project is currently under the stabilization phase. The management stated that this move will help the company significantly reduce its overall energy costs going forward. The project aligns with GSFC's sustainability and cost-efficiency goals, especially as the company looks to optimize operational expenses amid volatile energy pricing. The company informed both BSE and NSE about the development, citing it under Regulation 30(3) of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
