ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The New Mexico State Fair is coming the first weekend of September at Expo New Mexico. Before the fair begins, Expo is home to a variety of events happening throughout August. Police arrest man accused of fatal stabbing at a Gallup dollar store This weekend, August 9 – 10, Expo New Mexico hosts the Albuquerque Home Improvement and Design Show. Guests will have the chance to explore local home improvement companies from vetted and reputable vendors. August 23 – 24, the Pistons for Patriots Car Show is coming to Expo New Mexico. The show features a variety of vehicles for people to view and entertainment/special guests. Proceeds from the show go directly to Paws and Stripes, which provides animal-assisted therapy and mental health services to veterans and their loved ones. The Bosque Chile and Music Fest will be at Expo on August 23. The all-day event is dedicated to local chile. Guests can shop from local vendors, explore food and drink creations and participate in interactive chile demos. There will also be live music performances and a DJ performing throughout the event. ‘Amherstburg's Gone Car Crazy' event expected to draw big crowd

Various cars, like the Mustang Cobra, will be featured at the 19th annual Amherstburg's Gone Car Crazy event. (Gary Archibald/CTV News Windsor) This weekend the town of Amherstburg will be a car-lover's dreamland come true. the 19th annual 'Amherstburg's Gone Car Crazy' event takes place on Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. It's free for all patrons, however a fee applies to those interested in entering their special vehicle to win prizes. The one-day event usually attracts 5,000 visitors. Car enthusiasts will see classic, iconic, and custom cars, old and new. Amherstburg's Gone Car Crazy Various cars, like the Mustang Cobra, will be featured at the 19th annual Amherstburg's Gone Car Crazy event. (Gary Archibald/CTV News Windsor) Scott Elliott is the chairman of the event and has been involved with the organization of the special day for over a decade. Elliott is happy to bring together car enthusiasts from the community and beyond and he stresses that it's fun for the entire family. 'There's the splash pad still open for families and for kids,' said Elliott. 'There're the ice cream places that are open. There are restaurants that are open. Some of the other stores are open. So, there's lots of things that you can do with family.' Event organizers suggest getting to the family-friendly event early and parking will be limited near the venue.

Oxbow Fire Department 9th Annual & Dave Benson 3rd Annual Classic Car Show will be held on Saturday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Oxbow Park on Main Street No fee for cars, 'If it is old or different, bring it down! We will be proud to show it!' Awards will be given for different categories of cars and tractors. There will also be live music. Vintage vehicles rev up at Carew Castle for May Bank Holiday

ONE of the most popular events in the local calendar will return this spring, as Carew Castle prepares to host its annual Classic Car Show on Bank Holiday Monday 5 May. Set against the historic backdrop of the Castle and Millpond, the show brings together an impressive selection of classic and vintage cars, motorbikes, and military vehicles from across South Wales. The event has become a firm favourite among vehicle enthusiasts and casual visitors, offering a unique opportunity to view beautifully maintained vehicles in a striking heritage setting. In addition to the vehicle displays, the event will include live music and a range of family-friendly activities, making it a well-rounded day out. Hot drinks and bacon rolls will be available in the morning, followed by a full menu of homemade lunches and cakes at Nest Tearoom. The Castle and nearby Tidal Mill will also be open as usual, offering visitors the chance to explore over 2,000 years of history through exhibitions, displays, and the site's distinctive architecture. Daisy Hughes, Manager of Carew Castle, said: 'The Classic Car Show has become one of our most anticipated events of the year. It's a fantastic opportunity for vehicle owners to showcase their pride and joy, and for visitors to experience a wonderful mix of history, heritage, and automotive design – all in the unique setting of Carew Castle.' The Car Show will run from 10am to 3pm, with the Castle open until 4.30pm. Normal admission fees apply, with tickets priced at: Adults £8, Concessions £7, Children £6, and Family Tickets £25. Entry to the Car Show is included in the admission fee. No advance booking is required. The event is weather dependent and may be cancelled in the event of poor conditions.
