'Lack of respect' – Barcelona star Jules Kounde fumes after Osasuna victory
'Lack of respect' – Barcelona star Jules Kounde fumes after Osasuna victory Barcelona may have won against Osasuna on Thursday, but it's safe to say that not many at the club are overly happy after the match, with their frustrations being aimed at La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation. The match was originally scheduled for earlier this month, but it was postponed due to the sudden and tragic passing of Barcelona doctor Carles Minarro Garcia. The 27th was the date set for the rearranged fixture, and that ended up being final despite both clubs appealing for the game to be moved. Advertisement And to make matters worse for Barcelona, Dani Olmo picked up a muscle injury in the match, which could see him miss crucial upcoming fixtures. And for Jules Kounde, enough was enough as he issued an explosive rant whilst speaking to DAZN (via Marca). 'I'm angry about the date. It is not something normal. We have spoken many times about the calendar, we play too many games. I know there are people who don't understand it. I consider myself lucky to live off our passion, but it's a lack of respect and not only to the club. Image via Oskar Montero / Diario AS 'I'm also talking about Osasuna, who had players away on international duty too, like Budimir, who I faced and who haven't had the necessary rest. It doesn't matter the club. Osasuna, Barcelona, Real Madrid… It is a lack of respect for the players, not only for the clubs. We are not machines and to produce our game and play a good game we need rest. All institutions – not just La Liga – have to understand this.' It is certainly not common for matches to be played during/at the back-end of an international break, so Barcelona and Osasuna were certainly unlucky there – the Catalans more so given the injury to Olmo.

Barcelona vs Osasuna LIVE: La Liga match latest score and goal updates
Barcelona vs Osasuna LIVE Despite appeals from both clubs, Barcelona face Osasuna in the rescheduled La Liga fixture tonight in a match that will have huge implications at the top of the table. The two sides were originally scheduled to meet earlier in the month, however, it was postponed shortly before kick-off due to the unfortunate death of Barca's doctor, Carles Minarro Garcia. Barca boss Hansi Flick has been vocal with his unhappiness at the timing of this fixture, expressing concern over player welfare. Osasuna join Barcelona in appealing against new date for postponed match
Earlier today, the RFEF announced that the postponed La Liga fixture between FC Barcelona and CA Osasuna will now take place on March 27. Initially, the game was set to be played on March 8 but had to be rescheduled after the sudden demise of Barça's first-team doctor, Carles Minarro Garcia, hours before kickoff. The new date for the game is not something that the Blaugrana agree upon though, given that most of their stars will have just returned after national team duty while Raphinha and Ronald Araujo might not even be available. As such, Barcelona are furious with the decision to schedule it on March 27 and are considering launching an appeal. Now, Mundo Deportivo reports that Osasuna has now followed suit, and are also challenging the decision to proceed with the game on March 27. Both Barça and Osasuna had advocated for playing the match between rounds 37 and 38. As such, the Navarrese outfit consider this scheduling unnecessary and as a result, have filed their own appeal. The letter received by Osasuna with the official ruling stated that: the regulations require the match to be scheduled as soon as possible, and the RFEF believes an earlier date was feasible. Furthermore, it was cited that the presence or absence of international players is not a valid reason to postpone a match. On top of that, La Liga and the RFEF prefer to avoid rescheduling the match between rounds 37 and 38, as they believe it would compromise the integrity of the competition, which is why there are unified kickoff times in the final two rounds. Osasuna acknowledge that the chances of a successful appeal are slim but want to formally register their dissatisfaction with the ruling.
