Barcelona vs Osasuna LIVE
Despite appeals from both clubs, Barcelona face Osasuna in the rescheduled La Liga fixture tonight in a match that will have huge implications at the top of the table. The two sides were originally scheduled to meet earlier in the month, however, it was postponed shortly before kick-off due to the unfortunate death of Barca's doctor, Carles Minarro Garcia.
Just over a week later, Spain's football federation announced the fixture had been rescheduled for March 27. An unusual given players are still filtering back to their respective club sides following international duty and with La Liga action originally set to resume on March 29. Despite Barcelona and Osasuna proposing other dates for the game to be played, their requests were rejected, and as a result, the hosts are without Raphinha.
Barca boss Hansi Flick has been vocal with his unhappiness at the timing of this fixture, expressing concern over player welfare. Though, as this is his side's game in hand, they can make a statement in this season's La Liga title race by opening up a three-point lead over Real Madrid. Osasuna boss Vicente Moreno has told his side to forget about the 4-2 win over Barcelona from earlier in the season as 'no two games are the same'.
'Some things can be useful, such as general aspects, and others not,' he told reporters. 'Every moment makes the scenario and circumstances different.
'No two games are ever exactly the same; within a game, no two plays are the same; something always changes, and this one will be no different.
'At the time, we prepared the game as we thought we should approach it, and tomorrow we'll do the same. We have more or less clear ideas about what we want to do, knowing that you have an opponent in front of you that sometimes lets you down or doesn't let you down, not us, but most opponents.
'You only have to look at the results they've been getting in the league in general and at their home ground, important results for them.'

Tonight's fixture was originally scheduled for Saturday 8 March, 2025 at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium.
However, the fixture was postponed minutes before kick-off due to the unfortunate death of the Catalan club's doctor, Carles Minarro Garcia.
Just over a week after the postponement Spain's football federation announced the Barcelona vs Osasuna fixture had been rescheduled for March 27.
The date is rather unusual given it's the international break and players are still filtering back to their respective club sides with La Liga action originally set to resume on March 29.

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has said he is "not happy" about having to play against Osasuna tonight on the back of the international break.
"It's not the best situation for them. The players have played with their national teams, and that's bad," he told reporters. "Now we have to play against Osasuna, and we have to talk about whether it's the right time. I'm not happy. There are other leagues that do it differently.
"I can't change that. That's my personal opinion. But we're going to play, we're not making excuses. The team is ready and we have to strive for the best performance. We're going for it.
"The quality of the team is good and we can beat anyone, even if the players don't get the optimal rest."

It's a tough one to call as a lot will depend on the conditioning of the Barcelona players that were on international duty.
The La Liga leaders possess enough quality to claim all three points, but it could be a game where they are frustrated for long periods before finding the breakthrough.
Barcelona to win 2-0
17:45 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne
The timing of this fixture has not been kind to Osasuna either as Enzo Boyomo is a doubt to start following a lengthy trip back to Spain despite being an unsused substitute in Cameroon's 3-1 victory over Libya on Tuesday.
Lucas Torro is suspended, whilst Bryan Zaragoza misses out with a hamstring injury, but centre-back Unai Garcia has made the trip.
17:40 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne
Just yesterday, Hansi Flick said both Raphinha and Ronald Araujo would be unavailable for selection against Osasuna due to their exploits on international duty for Brazil and Uruguay respectively this week.
However, Araujo has been named in the matchday squad.

Club World Cup ‘Harms La Liga': Tebas Warns of Madrid Fixture Chaos

Club World Cup 'Harms La Liga': Tebas Warns of Madrid Fixture Chaos originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The FIFA Club World Cup kicks off in days, with Inter Miami facing Al Ahly in the opener on Saturday at the Hard Rock Stadium. The event kicks off a month-long tournament with 32 clubs from around the world. This newly formatted competition has had a mixed reaction from soccer fans around the world. Advertisement Many fans dreamed of watching the worlds top clubs face off around the world have the chance to play each other, but others find it unnecessary to bring this competition to life. Formatted like the World Cup for national teams, the Club World Cup will provide significant prize money for the participating teams, and more will be secured depending on each team's performance. Only two La Liga will compete in the tournament, which are the Madrid clubs Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid. There are concerns in Spain due to the scheduling of the competition, as La Liga will soon unveil the league's schedule for next season, which starts in August. The Club World Cup will start on June 14 and end on July 13. La Liga President Javier Tebas spoke to COPE and was asked his opinion of the Madrid clubs participating in the competition. Club World Cup Criticized by Tebas Tebas doesn't understand the point of having the competition other than being a financial benefit for clubs participating in it. The La Liga president mentions how it could negatively impact the league itself. Javier Tebas: "The Club World Cup is a complete nonsense. This model harms the ecosystem of LaLiga. And then there is the other issue, when will Real Madrid and Atlético be able to start the league matches." Advertisement With Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid being top clubs, it is possible for them to reach the latest rounds of the Club World Cup. The quarterfinals of the competition will be played on July 4 and 5. Anything past that date seems too late in preparation for the upcoming soccer season, which typically starts in mid-August. Along with that, rest time for players will be significantly reduced. Tebas is remains firmly opposed to the Club World Cup and does not want to change calendar dates for the new season. He will decide whether Real Madrid and/or Atletico Madrid will rest in the first matchweek. Javier Tebas: "We have to see and study it. It cannot be that we are constantly changing our calendars for other competitions, FIFA expects all leagues to adapt without consulting us. A Madrid derby in the first matchday is impossible." Three days ago, La Liga announced that the 2025-26 season league will start on the weekend of 17th August. The performance of the Madrid teams could result in game delays. What if Real Madrid and/or Atletico reach the quarterfinals of the CWC? COPE reports that the Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE) has spoken with Real Madrid's Dani Carvajal and Atletico Madrid's Koke on a potential delay in the upcoming La Liga season. Advertisement If Real Madrid and/or Atlético Madrid reach the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup, they may start their La Liga season a week after the scheduled start of the season. It could be as late as August 24 that either or both clubs could play their first league game of the new season if they become the last eight teams of the Club World Cup this summer. Who will Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid play in the CWC? Real Madrid is in Group H with Al Hilal, Pachuca, and RB Salzburg. They will make their debut on June 18 when they take on Al Hilal at the Hard Rock Stadium. Atletico Madrid is in Group B along with Botafogo, Seattle Sounders, and PSG. They will make their debut on Sunday, June 15, against the newly crowned European Champions, PSG. Huijsen recalls Mourinho and idol Sergio Ramos as he is introduced by Real Madrid

MADRID — Dean Huijsen thanked former coach Jose Mourinho and talked about his 'idol' Sergio Ramos as the center back was introduced by Real Madrid in what he called 'the best day' of his life on Tuesday. The 20-year-old Spain international was signed by Madrid from Bournemouth in May to give the Spanish powerhouse its first reinforcement for next season. He signed a five-year deal after Madrid activated the player's 50-million pound (then $66.4 million) buyout clause. 'It's the best day of my life,' he said. 'It's a dream to be here, and I'm going to give everything for the team. For me, Real Madrid is the best club in the world, and there is no other team like it.' Huijsen thanked Mourinho for bringing him to Roma on a loan from Juventus in January 2024. 'I was at Christmas dinner with my family when Mourinho called,' he said. 'When he calls, you have to listen. He's one of the greatest in the history of soccer, and I'm very grateful to him.' Mourinho had called Huijsen one of the 'best prospects in European soccer.' The young defender, who earned a first call-up by Spain for the Nations League playoffs in March, said he received a message from former Madrid star Ramos when his signing was made official. 'He's my biggest idol, the best center back in history,' Huijsen said. 'I admire everything about him, he's the most complete center back. My first fond memory is the final of the (Champions league in 2014), when he scored in the last minute of added time. I was 9 years old.' Huijsen said he already talked with new team coach Xabi Alonso about his roles with the club that needs to rebuild a defense after multiple injuries to its backline during a mostly disappointing 2024-25 season. 'We talked a little about what he expects from me. I think it's going to be a great few years,' Huijsen said. 'I think I fit in very well with the style of football Xabi wants to play. I'm going to try to contribute as much as I can, and I'll be delighted to help.' The highly rated defender was being sought after by other clubs in the Premier League after his standout season with Bournemouth. The skilled Dutch-born center back joined the Premier League team from Juventus for a reported 12.5 million pounds (then $16.6 million) in the offseason last year. He was a regular for Bournemouth since breaking into the team in November. ___ AP soccer:

Barcelona reach agreement over new three-year contract for teenage La Masia winger

While Deco's objective with the Barcelona senior team is to secure the future by renewing key players, the same policy is being followed in the academy. As such, Barcelona are set to renew the contract of Gambian winger Alieu Drammeh, aged 15, who will sign his first professional deal with the club, reports SPORT. Advertisement Drammeh is a right winger who will turn 16 on 18 August. The club and the player's agents have reached an agreement to keep him at the club for the next three seasons. The teenage attacker's renewal aligns with the club's plan to maintain the core of the Cadete A team so they can continue developing next season with Juvenil B. Who is Alieu Drameh? Drammeh was signed three seasons ago from Mataro's Infantil B team. Since joining La Masia, he has scored 31 goals and proven to be a difficult player to defend due to his athletic ability. He has made a strong impression at the club, performing for Infantil A and both Cadete teams over his three seasons in the youth system. Advertisement Drammeh played for Barcelona's Cadete A team this season and enjoyed a very productive campaign, scoring twelve goals. The Gambian has become a key player in Cesc Bosch's side. With eleven league goals, Drammeh became the top scorer for Cadete A, ahead of Iu Martinez (9 goals) and Isma Ziani (8 goals). Drammeh competed with Byron Mendoza for the right-wing position in the team. He is a fast, powerful winger with a strong goal-scoring instinct. Once he turns 16 in August, the winger, who has played for the Gambian Under-17 national team, will be legally able to sign his first professional contract with Barcelona.
