October Business Month keynotes set to inspire
Australia's muesli queen, Carolyn Creswell and co-founder of Who Gives A Crap, Simon Griffiths are set to headline this year's October Business Month (OBM) program.
OBM is the Northern Territory's premier business event providing Territory businesses with a month-long professional development program of inspirational and educational events.
Territory businesses are in for a treat this October with Carolyn Creswell and Simon Griffiths - two of Australia's leading entrepreneurs holding keynote events in Darwin and Alice Springs.
Carolyn Creswell founded Carman's Kitchen at 18 by purchasing a small muesli business for $1,000.
Over 32 years, Carman's has become Australia's leading muesli brand, known for healthy snacks and quality ingredients.
Carolyn's determination and focus on producing quality products using whole foods, has seen Carman's build a strong following in exporting to more than 30 countries globally.
Carolyn will share the inspiring story behind Carman's — how she transformed a $1,000 muesli business into a global brand. Covering growth milestones, leadership insights, strategic challenges, and brand building, she offers valuable lessons on resilience, innovation, culture, purpose, and work-life balance — sprinkled with candid reflections from over three decades in business.
Simon Griffiths is the Co-Founder and CEO of Who Gives A Crap, a profit-for-purpose home products company that donates 50 per cent of its profits to help build toilets in low-income countries.
Driven by a passion to use business to give back, Simon had the idea to start a toilet paper brand that helps to build toilets in the developing world.
Simon will share the Who Gives A Crap story of taking the company from an idea to more than $18m donated, including the viral crowd-funding campaign and growing the company at 2-3x year-on-year for almost 10 years. From there, he will share 10 key lessons learnt along the way.
Territory Success Stories (TSS) will continue to be showcased as keynote events. This year's TSS include Anita Synnott, Anneliese Grazioli, Dan Richards, Laura-Jane (LJ) Devlin, Paul Graham and Vicki-Leigh Lettice to name a few.
