Chelsea reject Dortmund bid for Carney Chukwuemeka
Chelsea have rejected a loan offer from Borussia Dortmund worth more than £15 million for Carney Chukwuemeka (h/t journalist Alex Crook). The Blues have been trying to shift him off the books, but want a bigger bid to let him leave. The midfielder will be frustrated after the hierarchy blocked his potential exit. Chukwuemeka knows he is not in manager Enzo Maresca's plans for the coming season and wants to leave to get game time elsewhere. Most of the interest in Chukwuemeka has come from Germany, where he spent the second half of the season on loan from Chelsea. The 21-year-old, who earns €59,808 per week, impressed during his short stint with Dortmund and caught the eyes of other suitors. Unfortunately, Dortmund have not been able to agree a deal with Chelsea to sign him permanently, allowing other clubs to enter the race. These include RB Leipzig. However, nothing has materialised to date. Dortmund might have to move quickly to land the Chelsea ace. The Blues are trying to sign Leipzig star Xavi Simons and might use Chukwuemeka to sweeten the deal. Chelsea are only waiting to sell Christopher Nkunku to Bayern Munich before completing a deal for Simons. The Blues will have more leverage and can push the player to Die Roten Bullen, as Chukwuemeka is similar to Simons. Chelsea have several other players to shift off the books before the close of the transfer window, including Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling. The Blues could sell striker Nicolas Jackson. They also need loan moves for Tyrique George and David Datro Fofana.

Chelsea in ‘direct talks' over Borussia Dortmund transfer
Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly in talks over a possible deal for Carney Chukwuemeka in the summer transfer window. The midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan with the Black and Yellow, making 17 appearances in all competitions, including four at the FIFA Club World Cup, but only started once. Chukwuemeka has been heavily linked with a move to RB Leipzig as a possible makeweight in a deal that could see Xavi Simons move to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have been in talks with both Leipzig and Simons in recent weeks as they look to sign yet more players before the start of the new season. However, Fabrizio Romano has reported that the east German outfit have enquired about signing Tyrique George, which may have opened the door for BVB to land Chukwuemeka. Chelsea in 'talks' with Borussia Dortmund over Carney Chukwuemeka transfer Romano has since claimed that Dortmund have 'reactivated direct talks' with Chelsea for the 21-year-old. Chukwuemeka 'wants the move', with 'negotiations ongoing between the clubs to find a solution'. Chelsea do not want to send the player out on loan again as their preference this summer is a permanent transfer. His initial loan move included an option to buy, which was reportedly in the region of €35 million (£30.4m). Chukwuemeka signed for the Blues from Aston Villa in a £20m deal in 2022, but has been unable to break into the first team. He has started just four Premier League games since the move to west London and is open to an exit in search of regular minutes. Carney Chukwuemeka to RB Leipzig links appear false, Raheem Sterling rumors also refuted
Seemingly reliable reports emerging earlier today regarding RB Leipzig's interest in Chelsea attacker Carney Chukwuemeka are apparently false. Kicker reports that the injury-prone Englishman is not an option for the German Red Bulls. Whether or not the recent Borussia Dortmund loanee plays in the Bundesliga at all next season is up in the air. Dortmund continue to encounter difficulty negotiating a new loan deal for Chukwuemeka with Chelsea. The notion that Dortmund and Leipzig could potentially organize a complicated swap deal for the 21-year-old made for interesting reading, but never was something that could be practically pulled off. Kicker contravened Sky Germany reports regarding Chuwuemeka. Earlier today, it was Sky Germany's turn to contradict the BBC. A sensational BBC report linking 82-times-capped England national team striker Raheem Sterling with a move to Bayer Leverkusen also appears totally false. The German pay-TV broadcaster emphatically denied that Chuwuemeka's fellow Chelsea professional was a candidate at Germany's red company team. GGFN |
