Carolina Wilga, 26, from Germany, has been missing for 11 days in a remote part of Australia around 200 miles from Perth and police have given an update about her van Footage showing a backpacker before she went missing has now been released by police with her mum issuing a desperate plea for information. Carolina Wilga, 26, from Germany, was last seen at a shop in the remote farming town of Beacon, around 200 miles northeast of Perth, Australia, at around midday on June 29. Police have now released a video of her going into the store where she stayed for around five minutes. She left in a black and silver Mitsubishi Delica Star Wagon which has now been located. Friends have said that her plan was to head off the beaten track and she has been backpacking in Australia for two years, staying mainly in hostels. ‌ READ MORE: Urgent search for backpacker, 26, who disappeared in Western Australia eight days ago ‌ Carolina is described as being 'of a slim build, with long wavy brown hair and brown eyes. She has several tattoos, including one which depicts symbols on her left arm'. Her mum, who is from Castrop-Rauxel in Germany, said that she is 'sorely missed' as she also appealed to the public. 'I'm her mother and need her [sic] help, as I can't do much from Germany,' she wrote. ‌ 'Carolina is still sorely missed.' She added: 'If anyone has any information, please contact the police,' she said. 'Please keep your eyes open!' And in an update from Western Australia Police, the force has said that the van has been found having suffered mechanical issues but there is still no signs of Carolina. ‌ A statement on Faceb ook read: 'About 1.10pm, Thursday 10 July 2025, police located the outstanding Mitsubishi Delica van that was driven by Carolina WILGA. The vehicle was located abandoned in the Karroun Hill area, in the north-east Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, and is believed to have suffered mechanical issues.' The message from the force continued: 'Carolina WILGA was not at the scene. The search to locate her is continuing, with additional resources being deployed to the area. Inquiries are ongoing, and anyone with any information in relation to the whereabouts of Carolina WILGA is urged to contact police immediately on 131 444.' Homicide Squad Detective Senior Sergeant Katherine Venn said that there is no reason currently to believe that there was anyone else involved in her disappearance. 'At the moment this is a missing persons investigation,' she said. 'There is no indication that there's any third party involvement in her disappearance, but our minds are open to any line of inquiry or any information that people bring forward to us.'

Police believe she last made contact with her friends as she was travelling through the Wheatbelt region of Wialki, near Beacon, about 320km to Perth's northeast A search is underway for a 26-year-old backpacker who vanished after she was last seen travelling in Western Australia. Caroline Wilga has not been heard from since June 29, and was reported missing to the police. She was last seen at a convenience store in Toodyay, nearly 90km northwest of Perth , on Saturday June 28. ‌ Police believe she last made contact with her friends as she was travelling through the Wheatbelt region of Wialki, near Beacon, about 320km to Perth's northeast. ‌ A Western Australia Police spokesperson said: "WA Police continue to have welfare concerns for 26-year-old woman Carolina WILGA, who hasn't been heard from since Sunday, 29 June 2025. "Police believe Ms WILGA was in the Wialki area, near Beacon, in the Wheatbelt region at the time of her last contact with friends. On Saturday, 28 June 2025, police believe she was at a convenience store on Stirling Terrace, near the intersection of Goomalling-Toodyay Road in Toodyay. "Ms WILGA has been backpacking within Australia for the last two years and resides mainly in hostels. "She is described as being a German national, of a slim build, with frizzy or curly long dark blonde hair, brown eyes and has several tattoos, including one which depicts symbols on her left arm. ‌ "Ms WILGA may be travelling in a black and silver 1995 Mitsubishi Station sedan, with WA registration '1HDS 330' Anyone with any information in relation to the whereabouts of Carolina WILGA is urged to contact police immediately on 131 444.
