Keshi's ‘Requiem' tour to bring the singer's honeyed vocals, alt-pop sound to S.F.
Keshi might not have picked up a guitar if it wasn't for the Nickelodeon show 'Drake & Josh.' Now, he's an award-winning musician.
The singer, whose real name is Casey Thai Luong, was inspired to start playing music thanks to the sitcom about two teenage musicians. He taught himself how to play guitar using online tutorials and his grandfather's Vietnamese music book and eventually started sharing his self-produced music online.
He took on the stage name Keshi, his childhood nickname, and began uploading his mellow R&B tracks to SoundCloud in 2017. It wasn't until 2019 that he quit his day job as a nurse at Texas Medical Center and signed with Island Records.
Keshi has since released two studio albums, the most recent of which, 'Requiem,' features his signature honeyed vocals and a mix of introspective tunes and upbeat pop tracks. His 'Requiem' world tour is set to stop at Chase Center; ambient pop artist Roy Blair and R&B singer Starfall join as special guests.
