A recent study set out to discover which U.S. states offer the most entertainment bang for your buck, comparing everything from the number of amusement parks to the cost of a night at the movies. This study ranks all 50 states based on 26 indicators of fun, shedding light on the places where enjoying life isn't just possible, it's practically a way of life. 'Living in one of the most fun states can boost your mental, physical, and emotional health,' says WalletHub analyst Cassandra Happe. 'These states help residents stay active and socialize—and they're also ideal for travelers who want to make the most out of the limited time they have to explore.' Ready to see if your state made the cut? Check out the most fun states in 2025 below! Coming in at number one is the Sunshine State itself. You've probably heard endless Florida jokes about strange happenings and alligator spottings in the city (only in Florida!), but maybe that's what makes it so fun! Florida is definitely unique. With year-round warm weather and 825 miles of stunning beaches, it's a sun-seekers paradise. Not a beach bum? No problem. Florida boasts over 9,200 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and paddling, plus it's the boating and fishing capital of the world. And let's not forget the Everglades, home to the incredible manatee and over 516 bird species. Oh, and did I mention the theme parks? Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, Legoland, Busch Gardens—Florida has them all! Maybe it didn't beat out Florida, but second place isn't too shabby! And believe me when I say it's not just because of the restaurants, performing arts theaters, and nightlife. Landmarks like Times Square, Central Park, and the Statue of Liberty are iconic, but New York's diverse population and cultural melting pot truly sets it apart. One of the funnest trips I've had was tubing down the Colorado River in the summer in Arizona with a drink in my hand, blasting music out of my Bluetooth speaker in my waterproof bag. You have plenty of options when it comes to fun, including hiking the Grand Canyon or hitting the slopes. That's right, in Northern Arizona, you can go skiing and snow-shoeing outside of Flagstaff. Arizona boasts 22 national parks, over 100 wineries, 75+ craft breweries, and 50 James Beard-nominated chefs and restaurants. The 10 most stressed states in America
If you're feeling overwhelmed and upset about the responsibilities that fill your daily life, you're not alone. In fact, half of all Americans report dealing with frequent daily stress — and that number jumps to 55% of men and 69% of women between the ages of 18 and 49, according to Gallup. And while stress can affect everyone, there are some communities where far more of the population struggles than others. 'There are plenty of small ways for people to manage stress,' said Cassandra Happe, an analyst at the consumer finance website WalletHub, in a statement. 'What many people don't realize, though, is that changing location can be a big stress reducer. For example, states that have lower crime rates, better health care and better economies tend to have much less stressed residents.' A WalletHub analysis ranked all 50 states based on residents' stress levels in four categories: work-related stress, money-related stress, family-related stress, and health and safety-related stress. Those scores were based on the states' performances across 40 metrics, including the average hours worked per week and rates of personal bankruptcies, divorce, and suicide. WalletHub pulled data from several sources including the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Kaiser Family Foundation.
