West Midlands Easter activities to keep your children busy
The bank holiday weekend is getting started this Good Friday and with schools broken up for the holidays, local groups and councils have scheduled plenty of events and activities over the four we have compiled a list of some of the events happening across the West Midlands:
Birmingham and the Black Country
In Birmingham, at the city's botanical gardens, they are hosting what they call Experience Alice's Easterland Adventure - a family event with interactive shows and parades until at Cannon Hill Park, there is an Easter extravaganza event on Friday with egg hunts, face painting, live music and a petting egg hunts are also being held at Wightwick Manor and Gardens, Wolverhampton, by the National Trust until and crafts workshops, which families can drop along to, are being held at the New Art Gallery, Walsall until 25 April, for children aged two and at Oak Park Active Living Centre, Walsall, they are hosting an Easter Big Bounce event on Friday for primary school children and siblings with parental Easter-themed day of entertainment will be held on Monday at Wolverhampton Racecourse with organisers saying youngsters aged under 17 can go for activities and events are listed on the Visit Birmingham website.
Coventry and Warwickshire
In Coventry, there is due to be an Easter Bunny Walk on Saturday at Gosford Park where organisers say children can hop, skip, and jump with the Easter bunny and receive an Easter egg.A children's Easter egg hunt will be held at the Castle Grounds Pub on Little Park Street for families on Sunday and on the same day, the Sky Blue Tavern will have a family fun day with egg hunts, a bonnet competition, a disco and games.A bird of prey event and a Horrible Histories maze are among the events at Warwick Castle this Easter while Kenilworth Castle holds an adventure visitors to Shakespeare's Birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon are being promised live performances in the gardens called The Women Who Made activities and events are listed on the Visit Warwickshire website.
Stoke and Staffordshire
A range of activities are planned at some of Staffordshire's castles this Easter including an Easter craft and trail workshop at Stafford Castle on Sunday and a daily dragon-themed egg hunt at Tamworth Castle until 27 railway, the Churnet Valley Railway, is hosting a Mad Hatter's tea party on a steam train until the National Trust holds an Easter trail at Biddulph Grange Garden until pottery fans, World of Wedgwood in Barlaston has its Clay Club featuring pottery painting and children's factory tours over the Easter Visit Staffordshire website has other events planned over Easter.
Shropshire
The National Trust is hosting an Easter adventure trail at Attingham Park, near Shrewsbury, every day until egg hunts will be held across the county at Stokesay Castle, Blists Hill and Hawkstone Park Follies, as well as a fairytale egg hunt at Park Hall also at Blists Hill Victorian Town, Telford, the site will be showcasing a Very Victorian Easter with an an egg dancing competition over the Easter bank holiday youngsters aged from two years old with a creative side are being given the chance to create Easter Bunny-inspired artwork at the Coalport China ideas for your family can be found on the Visit Shropshire site.
Herefordshire and Worcestershire
