Love Island lines up gorgeous professional footballer to 'create maximum drama' as bombshell in fallout from Movie Night bloodbath

Love Island bosses are lining up a professional footballer as a bombshell in a bid to create 'the maximum drama'. Fans of the ITV dating show have watched as Casa Amor left the TV villa reeling and couples on the rocks. However, producers are reportedly set to up the ante even more with the arrival of a gorgeous new Islander. A show insider has said footballer Catarina Pita is in talks to appear on the show with bosses said to think she'll be a 'game-changer' for this year's series. The source told The Sun: 'Cat has been busy in pre-season training but is on ITV2's list as a late bombshell. 'As always, cast are pulled in to suit storylines to create maximum drama. 'Bosses loved the idea of having a female footballer on the show during the Women's Euros.' After Casa Amor brought unmissable drama to the Love Island villa, the show's fan-favourite Movie Night also caused a stir. Even Maya Jama has been getting in on the drama - leaving fans open-mouthed after letting rip at Harry, Helena and Ben for their 'embarrassing' behaviour. Maya's no-nonsense responses to the islanders went down a hit with viewers, who branded her the 'best' host for the show. However, during last night's Love Island Aftersun, she revealed not all her remarks are included in the final cut of the episode. She made the confession as panelist Sam Thompson praised her for speaking up at the firepit. He said: 'You smashed it with Ben by the way, yeah, you nailed that.' She then replied: 'Thank you, but you do have to remember we film for a long time, I do always speak, it just doesn't always get involved.' The footballer has also models part-time and has built a social media platform to promote her work Keen to move on with the chat, Maya added: 'But there you got, my two pence.' Harry and Helena had been reunited during Wednesday's episode when he surprisingly returned from Casa single, despite exploring a connection with bombshell Rheo Parnell. Rheo spilled the tea during the recoupling, letting the islanders know there were 'kisses in bed, cuddles and all sorts' between her and Harry. Andrada Pop then pointed out that Harry admitted he 'didn't miss' his couple during Casa, which prompted a rather unbothered response from the semi-professional footballer and Helena, who burst into laughter. Maya then hit-back at their reaction, saying: 'I don't know, I probably wouldn't find it that funny if I was in a couple with someone like that.' Unfortunately, host Maya Jama has fueled rumours she will quit as host at the end of this series as she has quit its spin-off show. The presenter and DJ, 30, hosted the very first series of Love Island Games in 2023 - a brand new sister show to the regular version. It saw nine former stars from the UK edition fly out to Fiji to compete with international Islanders, though the aim was still to find love. Bosses have confirmed the format will return for a second series, but without Maya at the helm. They confirmed Ariana Madix, who became the host of Love Island USA last year, will take her place as presenter. Ariana, 40, previously stepped in to anchor the show for Maya on two occasions during the first series.
