Wedding venue plans for hall near Scarborough approved

Urgent hunt for missing boy, 3, last seen wearing dinosaur shorts & shoes who disappeared from caravan at holiday park
COPS are urgently hunting for a missing three-year-old boy who disappeared from a holiday park. Roman vanished from a caravan at Cayton Bay Holiday Park this morning, said police. 2 Roman was last seen at around 10.45am on Saturday, according to North Yorkshire Police. Cops said the youngster is wearing a multi-coloured beige and brown t-shirt. The toddler is also said to be wearing shorts with dinosaurs on them as well as blue dinosaur shoes. The force urged anyone with information to come forward immediately. North Yorkshire Police added: "If you have seen Roman or know where he is now, please call us on 999. "Please quote reference 180 of 9 August."

A visit to hidden gem North Yorkshire beach with free parking that will delight dog owners
Nestled between Scarborough and Filey, just off the A165, Cayton Bay Beach presents a hidden escape with awe-inspiring coastal vistas. This Yorkshire gem combines the county's signature rolling hills with stretches of pristine golden sands. Parking was a breeze along Filey Road, adjacent to a serene pastoral scene - cattle unbothered by passersby, set to the backdrop of an oceanic panorama. No sooner had I arrived than I met a Leeds holidaymaker giving his elderly golden retriever some respite in the back of his car, the boot open for ventilation while the dog quenched its thirst from a makeshift ice cream container bowl. The pet's owner, grandfather John Howlett, 62, tells me they frequent Cayton Bay with their caravan. The absence of any seasonal dog restrictions – unlike most popular beaches in the region – makes it one of his top vacation spots. It's such a nice open beach. I've been coming here for a few years, it's one of the places we go to with the caravan." He added, 'We're letting Casper have a nice time before he goes, because of his age [13]. ', reports Yorkshire Live. John warned against relying on free parking during the weekend, noting that Filey Road is often packed with cars. However, there's a private car park available for those unable to secure a complimentary space. John directed me towards a dog-themed café beach shack named The Salty Dog, situated at the foot of a path as you enter the beach. En route, I encountered numerous dog walkers enjoying the fresh sea breeze with their pets. The coastal views were stunning, showcasing a blend of Yorkshire's rugged hills and vast stretches of golden sandy beaches. Among the walkers were sisters Julie and Carrie Sahim, out with their pedigree Lhasa Apso. Julie commented: "We love it because it's so quiet. It's just beautiful, unspoiled and there's not too many people!". They enjoy walking along the Cleveland Way, a cliff-edge footpath stretching from Osgodby to Filey Brigg. "We're into wildlife, so we look at the butterflies and all the nature with my partner and my friends," Carrie shared. "We go out in Scarborough and all the coastal beaches there, but this is a bit of a change and quieter, a bit more rural." Dog owners will be delighted to know that the café provides an array of treats for dogs and features a 'hydration station' built into the wall next to its terrace, which offers a splendid view of the coastline.
