Blake Shelton hits back at angry critics following backlash over his and Gwen Stefani's pre-taped AMAs performance after fans claimed they were 'lied to'

Blake Shelton has hit back at angry critics on Wednesday after receiving backlash from his and wife Gwen Stefani 's pre-taped AMAs performance. Fans were left furious after discovering the couple weren't actually on stage at the American Music Awards, instead just pre-recorded their performance before Monday night's event. 'We've been lied to,' wrote a TikTok user who was apparently at the awards show and filmed Gwen and Blake's performances on a screen from a seat in the balcony. Blake has now responded to the backlash, sharing on X: 'Just now seeing these stories about Gwen and I pretaping our performances for the AMA's. 'We came and performed when the show asked us to.. Really nothing else to say.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Blake has now responded to the backlash, sharing on X: 'Just now seeing these stories about Gwen and I pretaping our performances for the AMA's. We came and performed when the show asked us to.. Really nothing else to say' Videos circulating on social media further riled up fans after it wasn't indicated to viewers at home that their performance wasn't live. The stage at the Fontainebleau was pictured in the video, but it was dark, and the actual performance from the 55-year-old No Doubt singer was instead projected on the large screen behind the stage. People appeared to be swaying and dancing on the stage, but they were turned to the screen to watch the video, rather than performing as part of a number. There also appeared to be crew members setting up the stage for the next number while her performance played. 'She's not here!' the TikTok user said at the end of the clip as she turned the camera back to herself in the audience. Gwen was performing a medley of her classic tunes to mark the 20th anniversary fo her 2004 album Love. Angel. Music. Baby., including Hollaback Girl, What You Waiting For? and Rich Girl. Blake's performance was somewhat more confusing, as he was pictured in photos taken on the red carpet in what appeared to be the same outfit that he wore for his performance, suggesting that he had arrived at the AMAs shortly before the show started. But another video from the same TikTok user also showed a pre-recorded performance from the 48-year-old country music star of his single Stay Country Or Die Tryin'. 'We've been lied to,' wrote a TikTok user who was apparently at the awards show and filmed Gwen and Blake's performances from a seat in the balcony Blake's performance was somewhat more confusing, as he was pictured in photos taken on the red carpet in what appeared to be the same outfit, suggesting that he had arrived at the AMAs shortly before the show started 'The craziest part of the AMAs last night was being told "and here's Blake Shelton Live" only for them to light up the stage like he's there, and never saying to us it was pre recorded. 'THEN, doing the same thing with Gwen Stefani!' the original poster seethed in text laid over the video. 'I felt like I was in a simulation looking around for him!' One commenter joked, 'LOL even the performers didn't show up.' 'Gwen Stefani performing live! ... somewhere else!' another user joked.

EXCLUSIVE Selling Sunset star Emma Hernan's boyfriend breaks silence on Chrishell Stause's feud with ex-best friend

's boyfriend is setting the record straight after Chrishell Stause made bombshell allegations about the Selling Sunset star's beau. On Friday, Chrishell, 43, responded to a fan comment on Instagram, asking the Netflix star what was going on with her and Emma, 30. Fans have noticed that the reality stars, who were once inseparable, have not been posting photos together or been seen out together. Their friendship even became a 'hot topic on Reddit,' according to the curious fan who asked the question. Chrishell responded to the Instagram comment, replying 'ask her about her MAGA bf who told me pronouns are dumb and that he likes to use the N word. I just can't with that. Too old to allow that in. But love her from afar.' In an exclusive chat with Blake Davis, 28, broke his silence on Chrishell's claims about him allegedly saying 'pronouns are dumb' and that 'he likes to use the N word.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Describing his interactions with Chrishell, Blake, who is based in Florida, said that he's only met her 'a handful of times,' with the last meeting taking place 'a year-and-a-half ago.' 'The meeting at Ms Stause's home took place in January 2024, and this was the last time I saw or spoke to Ms Stause,' he revealed. 'We are barely acquaintances and we know very little about each other's beliefs and lives.' He went on to say that he and Chrishell 'have never discussed political views.' He also said that he 'does not use derogatory language about anyone.' The real estate agent and developer confessed that he did, however, mistakenly call Chrishell's partner, Georgia 'G Flip' Flipo, 'Ms. Stause's wife' rather than use the pronoun 'them.' 'The only time we had a real conversation was when I met Ms Stause at her house with Emma. I regretfully referred to G Flip as Ms Stause's wife. 'Ms Stause corrected me that they were partners and that G Flip goes by the pronoun them,' he explained. 'Since, I have respectfully used the preferred pronouns.' Chrishell and the 31-year-old Australian singer tied the knot in May 2023. G Flip, who goes by they/them pronouns, came out as non-binary in June 2021. Alleging that he's being 'picked on' by Chrishell, he told that he's in his mid-20s and 'getting picked on by somebody my mom's age.' Emma and Blake have been dating since December 2023, he spilled. 'Aside from a few breaks we have taken due to distance and other personal issues, we remain committed to each other,' he shared with 'I am a supportive partner to Emma and I fully support her friendship with Ms Stause.' Although he did not touch base on Emma and Chrishell's current status, he said that he's staying out of their alleged feud since he's 'not part of their friendship.' has reached out to Chrishell's rep and Emma's rep for comment. After Chrishell's comment to a fan went viral, a source told TMZ that 'Emma felt she and Chrishell were cordial,' so the online outburst came as a 'shock.' The source added, 'Emma still loves Chrishell and will continue to be a cheerleader for Chrishell and G's relationship,' despite not having time to 'catch up lately.' Amid the friction, Emma has continued engaging with Chrishell's posts online while Chrishell has taken a step back. As recently as February 2025 the former besties interacted with each other on social media. When Hernan joked she was in a 'relationship' with her passport, Chrishell protectively declared, 'No dusties allowed.' The Selling Sunset stars' feud was reportedly filmed for the upcoming season of the show and will play out when season nine premieres. Emma, who keeps her personal life private, told Us Weekly back in December that Blake had stood up for her after her castmates failed to support her amid accusations she was having an affair with a married man. 'I was very grateful because he knew what happened and what they did to me. He was super upset and very supportive and felt awful for me,' she said, while adding, 'especially because he went and filmed and put himself out there as well, and they cut everything.' The Oppenheim Group realtor was upset at those scenes with Blake being cut as it put a lot of things out of context and made it seem like the affair rumors were true, she claimed. 'There's a few scenes where I have a bite mark on my arm and they try to play it like they don't know who it is. But we all know who it is,' she said. 'There's a few scenes that if you go back in the season and kind of pay attention to what they did now, it's super messed up.' Emma recently gave a happy birthday shoutout to Blake on her Instagram Story earlier this month and the couple has spent time together over the past week.

Chrissy Teigen revealed she got her hairline surgically lowered after alarming fans with her bandaged face on Instagram Live this week. 'At [sic] lot of you are wondering about my hospital pic which is very understandable as I gave no explanation lol,' the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model posted via her Instagram Story Friday with a close-up photo of her stitches. 'I had a hairline lowering procedure. lost a lot in the front from babies and it's just very thin up there. When you see it on a carpet, it's ALWAYS extensions.' Teigen promised to 'share more later' on her healing process, admitting that 'it really is a journey.' Teigen, 39, gave her followers quite the scare on Thursday when she appeared on Instagram Live from a hospital bed with her face wrapped in bandages. Teigen's face looked swollen, but that didn't stop her from giving a big smile for the camera. The star has been candid in the past about her plastic surgery procedures. In March 2020, Teigen revealed that she got breast implants when she was 20 years old. Soon after her admission, Teigen shared that she was having the implants removed because she was 'just over it.' 'I'd like to be able to zip a dress in my size, lay on my belly with pure comfort!' she explained at the time. 'Don't worry about me. All good. I'll still have boobs, they'll just be pure fat. Which is all a tit is in the first place. A dumb, miraculous bag of fat.' The following year, Teigen underwent a buccal fat removal surgery to remove fat from her cheeks. 'I did that Dr. Diamond buccal fat removal thing here,' Teigen shared in an Instagram video at the time. 'And since I quit drinking, I'm really seeing the results, and I like it.' In 2017, Teigen also admitted to getting liposuction in her armpits.

We tried Cecconi's at Soho House and this what we thought

Italian food with views across the sea, what's not to love? When I heard that Cecconi's at Soho House was opening their doors to non-members, I was keen to give it a try and it was a happy day when they invited me over to sample their menu. Cecconi's has sixteen venues across the globe, with several of their restaurants having reportedly hosted some of the biggest names in the celebrity world. A restaurant chain approved by the A listers; I had high expectations. And I must say I was not disappointed. The restaurant's interior (Image: The Argus Staff) Cecconi's Brighton venue is tucked away, just off Marine Parade, and looks to bring a slice of Northern Italy to Brighton's seafront. The restaurant features both indoor and outdoor dining, with a large terrace area offering panoramic views across the beach and a fantastic spot to watch the sunset on a summers evening. We took a seat at a table next to the window, where we began our evening with a drink. I went for the apple and honey mocktail which was both refreshing and the perfect alcohol alternative. I was particularly impressed by the number of options for alcohol-free cocktails, something which can often be limited at a lot of restaurants. For starters, we decided to share some calamari, a dish which was clearly popular among diners as we saw many the dish brought out throughout the evening. Calamari, alongside the honey and apple mocktail (Image: The Argus Staff) As someone who can be a little bit fussy when it comes to seafood, the calamari was delicious. The fish was not chewy and the battered coating was really flavoursome, pairing perfectly with the aioli dip. The portion size was also very generous, and having already indulged in some focaccia offered on entry, I was conscious to not spoil my main meal. For main course, I chose the buffalo mozzarella, tomato, and basil pizza. There was a good amount of cheese, and you could taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients used. Our main course (Image: The Argus Staff) My dining partner chose the pork chop with borlotti beans and gremolata, with a side of chips. The piece of pork was huge, the meat very tender with a lovely taste. The beans also complimented the dish well. By this point, I must admit I was feeling a little defeated by the level of carbs I had consumed. However, the temptation of at least looking over the dessert menu was too much. Easily persuaded, and taking a recommendation from staff, we ordered the choux bun. The giant pastry came with caramel ice cream, alongside a huge gravy boat filled with chocolate which you able to able to pour over the top. Hidden inside the profiterole you could also find rhubarb, which added a lovely sharpness to the rich, chocolaty flavours. The choux bun (Image: The Argus Staff) I can see why it's a favourite among customers, just thinking about it is making me hungry! Overall, my experience at Cecconi's was faultless. The food was delicious, topped off by the fantastic service and relaxing atmosphere. Staff had a really great understanding of what the restaurant had to offer and were consistently on hand to offer advice and recommendations. The food was of a really high standard, and although slightly pricier than other places in the city, I feel that the product you receive is good value and worth that little extra. If you are looking for a new restaurant to try this weekend with seafront views and impeccable service, Cecconi's is definitely worth a visit.
