Conor Benn involved in ‘tear-up' with ex-Premier League striker on SAS television show

Former Premier League striker Troy Deeney has said he had a 'tear-up' with Conor Benn on the recently filmed series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. The popular TV show is due to air on Sunday (3 August), with eight one-hour episodes scheduled. And ex-Watford striker Deeney has claimed he went toe-to-toe with Benn during filming, but remained tight-lipped on the outcome of the scrap. 'We had a bit of a tear-up, yeah,' Deeney told talkSPORT. 'So yeah, had a nice little roll-around with Conor, and I'll let you know who wins [later].' The TV programme sees contestants take orders from former Special Forces soldiers and often includes a boxing challenge, with the celebrities forced to demonstrate their willingness to stay in the fight. Ex-cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellew previously featured on the show and was involved in a tense exchange with then-presenter Ant Middleton as his emotions threatened to spill over. Having taken punches from multiple celebrities, Bellew appeared tempted to fight back, leading to Middleton telling him: 'Control your f****** aggression. "You're going to cause some f****** damage. You're going to potentially kill someone.' Reflecting on the incident afterwards, Bellew said: 'That was a clash of two lions. I was ready to just go for it. I really was. Thankfully, I took a breath and walked away.' Deeney's revelation indicates things may have also got heated with Benn, and fans will now have to tune in to the show to see how it all played out. Meanwhile, Benn is still waiting for his next fight to be announced after suffering his first professional loss to arch-rival Chris Eubank Jr in April. He could be set for a rematch with his domestic foe later this year, although he also has other options on the table. Benn agreed to a future fight with lightweight world champion Shakur Stevenson earlier this month, while his promoter Eddie Hearn has also claimed he could be in line to face the winner of the all-Irish welterweight title fight between Lewis Crocker and Paddy Donovan. DAZN is the home of combat sports, broadcasting over 185 fights a year from the world's best promoters, including Matchroom, Queensberry, Golden Boy, Misfits, PFL, BKFC, GLORY and more. An Annual Saver subscription is a one-off cost of £119.99 / $224.99 (for 12 months access), that's just 64p / $1.21 per fight. There is also a Monthly Flex Pass option (cancel any time) at £24.99 / $29.99 per month. A subscription includes weekly magazine shows, comprehensive fight library, exclusive interviews, behind-the-scenes documentaries, and podcasts and vodcasts.

Strictly bosses 'in talks' with England rugby legend amid rumours over pro pairing

Strictly Come Dancing is set to return later this year with pros like Nadiya Bychkova having already begun rehearsals, ahead of the line-up of contestants being announced A retired rugby union player is reportedly in talks to appear on Strictly Come Dancing. There's already speculation over who they could be partnered with for the BBC dance contest if they end up taking part in the upcoming series. ‌ The show is set to return later this year and rehearsals underway for the professional dancers. The line-up of contestants for the new series of Strictly has yet to be announced, but there's been speculation over potential contestants in recent weeks. ‌ Chris Robshaw, 39, who captained England's national team, is now among those rumoured for the dancefloor when the show returns. Since his retirement from rugby in 2022, he's already been on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. ‌ It's been teased that Chris would likely be paired up with pro Nadiya Bychkova, 35, if he does Strictly this year. She was announced as one of the returning dancers in April, alongside two new additions to the pro line-up. Chris, who is married to classical singer Camilla Kerslake, is thought to be almost 6 foot 2 inches tall so there's speculation that Nadiya would be only pro close to matching his stature, unless he has a same-sex partner for the competition. A source teased to the Sun that Chris, who is reportedly in "advanced talks" for Strictly, and returning pro Nadiya could deliver "sizzling performances" if they are partnered on the show. ‌ The source said: "Chris is likely to be the hunkiest celebrity signing for the 2025 show and if he does get paired with Nadiya will deliver some sizzling performances. But as a former rugby star he'll also have some big dance shoes to fill as plenty of other players have gone onto Strictly and done remarkably well." A number of former rugby players have competed on Strictly since the TV show launched in 2004, with Martin Offiah placing fourth in the first series. Matt Dawson was runner-up in 2006 and Kenny Logan then placed fifth in 2007. Austin Healey also achieved a top five position when he competed in 2008, having placed fourth. Gavin Henson, who appeared on the show in 2010, and Ben Cohen, who competed in 2013, ended up in fifth and eighth place respectively. ‌ More recently, contestants with a background in rugby haven't done as well on Strictly though. Thom Evans placed twelfth when he competed in the ballroom back in 2014 and Ugo Monye placed eleventh in the contest in 2021. The line-up of contestants for the new series has yet to be announced. The BBC however has already confirmed which pros will be returning to the dancefloor, with Nadiya among the dancers coming back for another series. ‌ Nadiya and the other pros have already started rehearsing for the upcoming series. They have posted updates from training on Instagram, including introducing Alexis Warr and Julian Caillon, who are the newest pros on the show. A photo of the group together in a dance studio was shared by Nadiya last night. She wrote in the caption: "Back in the ballroom bubble with the best in the business. Another season, another adventure - and I'm so ready for it."

Simon Cowell 'never been so angry' after treatment on Celebrity SAS show

X Factor star, Lucy Spraggan, has spilled the beans on Simon Cowell's brief cameo on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which returns to Channel 4 on Sunday Simon Cowell was fuming after his small stint on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins recently, according to the show's new recruit, Lucy Spraggan. ‌ The dad-of-one, 65, who walked the X Factor star, 34, down the aisle last year, is not part of the lineup, but pops up in the Channel 4 endurance show when he calls Lucy to try and help motivate her. ‌ The singer, who has been close friends with Simon following her harrowing experience on the X Factor in 2012, is reportedly hung up on by the DS (directing staff) when he tries to rally his pal, leaving the media mogul "so angry". ‌ Speaking to The Sun, Lucy said: "The DS [directing staff] hung up on him and he was like, 'I've never been so angry'." In the interview, the singer also said the 65-year-old considered appearing on the show himself, but she was worried he'd 'die'. She revealed: "He thought it was a great idea, me doing the show. He knows I love being outdoors. We do a lot of shooting air rifles and stuff together, so he knows this is my thing, testing my mental resilience. ‌ "It was just funny because he had said, 'Oh, maybe I'll try and have a go at it'. I was like, 'Simon, you would literally die!'. It was funny because it really contextualised how hard it was that I just straight away said to him, 'You would have no chance.' Lucy bestowed the biggest honour on the media mogul when he walked her down the aisle last year. The former X Factor boss also made a speech at her wedding to the "love of her life" Emilia Smith. ‌ And while many fans may be bamboozled at Lucy's close bond with Simon, she's spoken fondly about him and how she knows a "very wholesome version" of the multi-millionaire. Lucy - who is estranged from her biological dad - and Simon were able to build a strong bond over the last four years after he apologised for not supporting her following her harrowing sex attack in 2012 while she was filming The X Factor. At the time, Lucy was only 21 years old and was sexually attacked by a hotel porter named Soby John, who used his hotel key card to enter her room after she had passed out drunk after celebrating Rylan Clark's birthday. ‌ But it wasn't until the death of Caroline Flack in 2020, Lucy felt able to speak out about her ordeal. Her attacker was sentenced to 10 years and was deported back to India, after serving three years of his sentence. Lucy now has her sights set on winning Celebrity SAS in which she stars alongside Love Island 's Tasha Ghouri, The Traitors ' Harry Clark, S Club's Hannah Spearritt and former glamour model Rebecca Loos.

Celebrity SAS contestant 'quit hours into filming' before making huge life decision

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins returns next week for its latest series on Channel 4 and among the line-up for the TV show is former S Club member Hannah Spearritt One of the celebrity contestants on the new series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which launches next week, reportedly dropped out just hours into the experience. The news comes after the line-up was announced last week. ‌ Fourteen celebrities were enlisted for the Channel 4 show's latest series, which was filmed in Wales. It's teased that the contestants will take part in "the most gruelling phase" of Special Forces selection over the eight episodes, with the upcoming series set to launch next weekend. ‌ The line-up includes former S Club member Hannah Spearritt, 44. She's understood to have filmed for the show prior to relocating to Costa Rica earlier this year, with the singer now living an "uninhibited" life in the jungle. ‌ She was said to have faced a "sequence of setbacks" prior to relocating abroad. In 2023, she was said to have faced homelessness and dropped out of S Club's reunion tour that same year. Her departure from the tour came after bandmate Paul Cattermole 's death weeks prior and Hannah said that her health contributed to the decision. It's now been reported this week that Hannah's experience on Celebrity SAS proved to be the "final straw" before she moved abroad. It's claimed that she quit on the first day after hoping it would "turn things around for her". ‌ A source told the Daily Mail that Hannah had "pretty much exhausted" her connections in the industry before her move to Costa Rica. They said that she no longer speaks to her bandmates and has "shut herself off" from the industry. They added that the "final straw" came when she took part in Celebrity SAS. The source told the outlet: "Hannah truly believed that a stint on one of the hardest and most gruelling shows could turn things around for her." However, it's claimed that Hannah struggled with the experience on the reality TV show. The source said: "But sadly she just couldn't hack it and walked on the first day." They then concluded by saying: "It was all rather embarrassing." ‌ She spoke about her hopes for the show in a statement released by Channel 4 last week when the line-up was announced. She said: "I hope to take out of this experience, strength. I want to feel stronger again, mentally and physically, because there's always improvement there." Hannah, who has two children, added: "There are always dips that happen along the way with motherhood or whatever but I think when you just experience different stuff, it changes you. I have no idea what to expect, but I do know it will be an experience and it's something that I will have for life." ‌ She said: "However the experience goes, I am going to learn about myself. Maybe I'll find out I am a bit of a mess or I might find out that I'm stronger than I think I am … it's finding out things about yourself that you would never, ever find out. We live in this world where it's so easy to live in our comfort zone, so this is an opportunity to get outside of that and … for me anyway, growth and expansion is one of the most important things, and that is something that hopefully I can pass on to my kids." Since taking part in the show, Hannah has relocated to Costa Rica with her husband Adam Thomas and their two children. Earlier this year, she teased that she was embracing a "new beginning" after having left the UK just months prior. ‌ Hannah confirmed in January that she had arrived at her new home, writing: "Well ... we finally made it to paradise. Beautiful country, beautiful people." She's continued to share updates since then and her bio on Instagram reads: "Prepper, survivalist and creator now living the uninhibited jungle life." In one of her first posts after relocating, which was shared in February, Hannah said that the area had helped her "recover from a challenging year". She made the comment alongside photos including one of her beside her kids on a walk. She wrote in the caption: "Morning walks down to the waterfall… trying to keep up with the little legs! I'm putting together a little reel of this magical place that has really helped me recover from a challenging year and I'll put the link in with it so you can enjoy it too if u like."

Rebecca Loos' remote life and fears over TV comeback after 'pleasuring a pig'

As Rebecca Loos makes her TV comeback on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, the Mirror takes a look at what the media personality's life looks like now, more than 20 years after 'Pig-gate' Back in 2004, Rebecca Loos made headlines after making allegations that threatened to rock the marriage of the '00s golden couple, David and Victoria Beckham. ‌ Rebecca, now 48, briefly worked as football icon David's personal assistant in 2003 following his high-profile transfer to Real Madrid. ‌ In an interview given to the now-defunct News of the World, the Madrid-born former glamour model claimed she and David had embarked on a steamy night of passion behind Victoria's back. ‌ The Beckhams dismissed these claims as "ludicrous", while Rebecca used her newfound platform to launch a reality TV career. Perhaps most notably, the media personality made an appearance on Channel 5's controversial 2004 offering The Farm. ‌ Slammed as "morbid and sordid" by the RSPCA, the divisive show followed celebs as they competed for the title of "Top Farmer", with challenges centred around agriculture and livestock rearing. Rebecca, who came in third place behind Jeff Brazier and Vanilla Ice, provided what was arguably the most memorable moment of the first series. Wearing rubber gloves, Rebecca was seen pleasuring a boar to extract semen, in scenes that sparked a flurry of Ofcom complaints. ‌ While some viewers argued that the act was "akin to bestiality", as per the Manchester Evening News, Ofcom ultimately ruled that the incident had not been "degrading or harmful to the boar", clearing Channel Five of breaching taste and decency. Although the memory of 'pig-gate' still lingers in public consciousness, Rebecca's life has changed in many ways since her days as a darling of the reality TV circuit. ‌ Indeed, Rebecca bowed out of the spotlight not long after her whirlwind ascent to fame and now lives a much quieter life in the picturesque hamlet of Hemsedal in the mountains of Norway. It's here where former Playboy model Rebecca has found happiness with her husband, Sven Christjar Skaiaa, a Norwegian doctor she met while shooting the 2008 reality TV series 71 Degrees North. While Rebecca appeared in front of the camera, Sven was working behind the scenes as a medic. Despite appearing to come from very different worlds, sparks soon flew, and it wasn't long until Rebecca realised she'd found the one. ‌ The following February, Rebecca announced that she and Sven were expecting a baby, telling Spanish gossip programme 'Esta Pasando':"I wasn't planning on having a child. It was an accident. But the child will be very welcome and very loved." She continued: "He is not well-known. He's Norwegian. We met after the summer in Norway, and he's a doctor. We're both delighted with the pregnancy. He wasn't a fling, he's my boyfriend, and I hope to spend the rest of my life with him." ‌ Noting that change was on the horizon, Rebecca then vowed: "Becoming a mother will change everything. My years as a crazy, single woman are over." Rebecca and Sven, who tied the knot in a small ceremony in 2012, set off for a new life in Hemsedal, in southern Norway's Buskerud county, where they raise their two sons in the remote "Scandinavian Alps". ‌ A far cry from the media buzz of London, Rebecca's idyllic-looking home is a three-hour drive from the nearest airport and a two-hour drive to the closest hospital. However, she doesn't seem to miss the conveniences of city life one bit. and, in a previous interview with the MailOnline, she claimed to have "no regrets". ‌ Mum of two Rebecca revealed: "I am so happy. I have no regrets. "People said I was mad, who was this guy? I hardly knew him, what on earth was I doing? But look at everything I have now. I am so happy with my life now. Many people are so afraid of change. "Change is good, change is how you learn, people should just f***ing go for it. I like the way my life has taken me. If I hadn't been famous, I would not have been invited on the TV show where I met my husband, Sven, and had my lovely boys. I would not have had the life I have now. I took a lot of wrong decisions and got talked into a lot of things." Nowadays, Rebecca works as a yoga teacher and massage therapist, and only ever makes a handful of media appearances. Information on Rebecca's official website offers a little insight into her huge career change. ‌ According to this website: "In 2009, life led Rebecca to the picturesque landscapes of Hemsedal, Norway. This move marked a significant shift in her journey, as she embraced a new way of living that prioritised connection to nature, family, and personal growth. "While adjusting to a new language and community, she completed a rigorous three-year education to become a certified Medical Assistant in 2011. This background not only solidified her medical knowledge but also deepened her appreciation for holistic health. ‌ "Following the birth of her second child in 2012, Rebecca's yoga practice evolved beyond its initial physical focus. She embarked on a deeper exploration of Ashtanga yoga, experiencing firsthand how the practice revealed hidden layers of resilience, presence, and joy. Each session became an opportunity for self-discovery and reflection, enhancing her commitment to share this journey with others." Now Rebecca has emerged from her idyll to participate in Celebrity SAS, where she's faced a grilling over her accusations about the Beckhams. ‌ When quizzed by Jason Fox and Chris Oliver in the show's Mirror Room, Rebecca discussed the motivation behind her TV comeback, admitting: 'I just wanted to show people who I am and just be myself, which has always been my thing. And I just went in it with a very open mind and take it as it comes. 'I was quite nervous as to how the others would perceive me. I was nervous and apprehensive as to how the show would be edited, because that's always something you have no control of. However, I must say the production team on this show have been absolutely amazing from day one, they have been truthful, they have stuck to their word." Touching upon how differently she and Beckhams are perceived by the public, she reflected: 'It felt unjust that my life was pretty hell and his (Becks) life kept going and kept blossoming. I've been accused of being a liar. I've had a lifetime of opinions around me, I've definitely developed thick skin. ‌ "I think the public opinion now has softened, at least from what I'm gathering since the documentary came out with the Beckhams a couple of years ago. I think it is now because thanks to social media, there is a whole different following out there, which it's a double-edged sword.
