First Shipment Of 'Saidal' Pharmaceutical Products Exported To Mauritania

On Wednesday, the 'Saidal' group exported its first shipment of pharmaceutical products to Mauritania, after winning an international tender, from the port of Algiers, as revealed by the CEO of the public group, Mr. Younes Bouarara. Mr. Bouarara explained, in a statement to 'Waj', that this first shipment, intended for the Central Authority for the Acquisition of Medicines and Medical Supplies in Mauritania, consists of 100,000 bottles of 'Paracetamol' medicine for children. The official pointed out that this operation is part of the international tender launched by the Mauritanian Authority in 2024, which the group won, adding that 'Saidal' recently participated in several international tenders to export its products to other countries, especially Senegal, Chad, and Yemen. This step embodies a real endeavor to strengthen the partnership between Algeria and Mauritania, and contributes to facilitating access to quality medicines, in addition to supporting exchanges in the pharmaceutical field, according to him. In a related context, additional quantities of various types of medicines are expected to be exported to Mauritania in the coming months, within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed last May between 'Saidal' and the Mauritanian company 'Chinguitty Pharma', which operates in the field of distributing medicines and medical and pharmaceutical supplies. This agreement aims to enhance bilateral cooperation, especially in the field of supplying the Mauritanian market with Algerian medicines and promoting them, according to the same official. Also, under this agreement, a partnership will be launched for the production of medicines in Mauritania, especially since the Mauritanian partner has a factory in advanced stages of completion, which is scheduled to enter service with technical support from the 'Saidal' group. Production, in its first phase, will focus on the most commonly used medicines, such as therapeutic drinks and tablets, and will later expand to include medicines for the treatment of chronic diseases, such as diabetes, heart diseases, and anti-cancer drugs. On this occasion, Mr. Bouarara confirmed that this step is part of the group's new strategy aimed at strengthening its presence in markets, especially African ones, recalling that 'Saidal' had previously exported quantities of pharmaceutical materials to Chad, Mali, and Tunisia.
