‘Just want it to stop': Resident speaks after recurring pride flag theft in Eagle Mountain, officials seek info
SALT LAKE CITY () — Hailey Randall has put up LGBTQ+ pride flags at her Eagle Mountain home for years — but over the past year, the flags at her home have been stolen or vandalized on several occasions. 'We just want it to stop,' Randall said. 'We just want everybody to feel safe and loved.' On Monday, the shared , which happened on the night of March 24. The UCSO said pride flags had been stolen from the home 'over the past year, and again the past few nights,' and is seeking information about the thefts. The footage shared by the sheriff's office shows three suspects, with two of the individuals grabbing onto and hanging from a rainbow flag until it detached from the home. A third person is seen pulling a transgender flag out of the grass in the yard. Randall said the incidents first started last summer, when a pride flag on her property was taken down, ripped up, and thrown back onto the yard. Another incident happened around Halloween last year, when a flag at the home was torn down again. 'The first time, it was really hurtful… almost kind of shocking,' Randall said. 'We hear that this stuff happens, but to actually have it happen to us was… kind of a gut punch.' Randall said as the incidents have continued, it's been 'frustrating,' and that they keep replacing the flags to 'have that representation out there that we believe that everybody should feel safe for whoever they are.' Randall said similar pride flag vandalism has occurred within the neighborhood and believes the suspects may be local to the area. 'Just please stop,' Randall said. 'Even if you don't like what they stand for, or agree with it … it's something that's important to us, and it's not good to come onto people's properties and take things. Just let it be.' $20K reward offered to help stop crimes against Utah livestock
SALT LAKE CITY () — If you have information about cattle theft in rural areas, you may get a $20,000 reward if your tip leads to an arrest. The said the (UDAF) is offering the reward, which will be given for 'any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of people individuals involved in crimes against livestock.' The sheriff's office said calving season in Utah typically means there is an increase in cattle theft. Repeat offender back in custody for drug dealing, neglect
HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – An Evansville man no stranger to law enforcement is back in custody on several charges including neglect and dealing marijuana. According to an affidavit, on Monday, an Evansville Police detective overheard on Central Dispatch that an officer was trying to stop a silver Cadillac SUV. The officer advised that the SUV fled and was never able to get close enough to conduct a traffic stop. EPD says the license plate came back as stolen, and that the officer had previous knowledge of the vehicle. Later that day, two detectives saw the same SUV traveling west on Lynch Avenue in the area of Maxx Road. Surveillance was conducted before a vehicle takedown was conducted to prevent the SUV from fleeing again. The effort was reportedly successful as the SUV tried to turn right and accelerate but ended up hitting a deputy's vehicle. Evansville man arrested after accusations of child molestation over a decade later The driver was identified as Sebastian Buckingham, 28, and he was allegedly placed into custody without incident. A female passenger was also detained after being called out. EPD says the passenger made authorities aware that her newborn child was in the vehicle. The child was reportedly not hurt. During a search of the vehicle, EPD says a strong odor of marijuana was present and several items were located including: Gray Apple iPhone Digital wallet Almost 30 plastic baggies with a green leafy substance Rolled brown paper with a green leafy substance Two duffle bags, backpack and a box containing THC cartridges Digital scale Misc. paraphernalia Ruger 9mm handgun EPD says 532 grams of the green leafy substance was found and along with 885 grams of THC vapes were found. The substance tested positive for THC. EPD states Buckingham admitted that everything in the vehicle belonged to him but would not give any information on where he was getting the substances from. EPD also states some of the substances were below the child's car seat. Buckingham was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on charges of Unlawful Carrying of a Handgun with Prior Conviction, Dealing Marijuana, Resisting Law Enforcement and Neglect of Dependent. Haiku man arrested, charged with murder
HONOLULU (KHON2) — A Haiku man has been arrested and charged with murder after a woman was found dead in a police officers were sent to a Haiku residence on Saturday, Jan. 25 shortly after 7:30 a.m. when Central Dispatch received a report that a woman sustained an injury. Officials said the injuries may have occurred from a fall. OCCC inmate found dead, murder investigation opened Units arrived at the scene around 7:46 a.m. and found 68-year-old Cynthia Moore unresponsive inside the residence. Police determined she was deceased at the scene and no life-saving measures were performed, according to MPD. A 74-year-old Haiku man was arrested later the same night and was released pending further investigation. He was re-arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 5 for Murder in the Second Degree. 'The Maui Police Department extends its deepest condolences to Ms. Moore's family and friends during this difficult time.' Due to the active investigation, no further information is available. Campbell County corrections officer fired, charged after allegedly chasing man
LAFOLLETTE, Tenn. (WATE) — A corrections officer was arrested after he allegedly chased a man in his truck near LaFollette after being told the victim flipped off his girlfriend. The victim called the Campbell County Sheriff's Office on January 31, saying that the corrections officer, Logan Walden, 21, had chased him with a truck up Loop Road after reportedly being told that the victim had flipped of Walden's girlfriend. During the chase, Walden called him on Snapchat, threatening the victim, an affidavit of complaint states. Violence reduction nonprofit reacts to Knoxville shooting that injured child The victim knew that Walden was a member of law enforcement, and he was afraid that Walden would hit his vehicle, so he pulled over, the affidavit continues. Walden then allegedly got out of his truck and tried to fight him. The victim then grabbed his pistol from his vehicle, pointed it at the ground and told the officer he wasn't going to fight. When he saw the pistol, Walden retreated to his truck but said that this was 'not over,' and that he would 'get him,' the victim reported. After this, Walden reportedly called Central Dispatch. He said that he had pulled the victim over to see if he needed help and that the victim had then pulled a gun on him the affidavit said. It continues to explain that Walden said that, if he had his own gun, he would have shot the victim, according to court records. Law enforcement got statements from both Walden and the victim. Walden reportedly said the victim had flipped off his girlfriend and ran her off the road. However, Walden's statement did not match what he had told dispatch, the affidavit states. The affidavit continues to state that the administrator accused Walden of lying and Walden nodded his head and said, 'Yes.'
