IceHogs fall in decisive game five in Milwaukee in overtime

MILWAUKEE, WI (WTVO/WQRF) — The Rockford IceHogs' season ended with a sudden thud Sunday evening in Milwaukee when they dropped a 4-3 overtime decision to the Admirals. Three Game Fives In AHL Calder Cup Playoffs Today

For just the second time in AHL history there are three winner-take-all games on the same day. The Providence Bruins take on the Charlotte Checkers at 3pm EDT, the winner will take on the winner of the other Atlantic Division Semifinal. The two-time defending Calder Cup champion Hershey Bears take on the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at 5pm EDT, the winner will take on the winner of Providence/Charlotte in the Atlantic Division Finals. The Rockford IceHogs take on the Milwaukee Admirals at 5pm EDT, with the winner moving on to face the Texas Stars in the Central Division Finals. Providence goaltender and AHL Goaltender of the Year Michael DiPietro is a game time decision after suffering an injury in game four. Lehigh Valley veteran goaltender Cal Petersen will start game five after Parker Gahagen was injured in game three.
