Odisha CM pays tribute to victim of Pahalgam attack, announces assistance
Bhubaneswar, Apr 24 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday announced financial assistance of Rs 20 lakh for the family of Prashant Satpathy, who was killed in the terrorist attack at Pahalgam on April 22.
The Chief Minister visited Ishani village in Balasore district to pay tribute to the departed soul and offered condolences to the bereaved family.
Majhi also announced a government job for Prashant Satpathy's widow and assured her of full support for the education of their nine-year-old son.
Prashant, who was working as an accountant at the Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology (CIPET) in Bampada, was on a holiday trip to Jammu & Kashmir with his wife and son when he was killed by terrorists on Tuesday, along with 27 others.
Majhi condemned the attack as "cowardly" and expressed solidarity with the family, reaffirming the state government's commitment to support them during this difficult time.
He strongly denounced the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, located in South Kashmir's Anantnag district, describing it as a most heinous and barbaric act.
